Today marks the opening of our very own Breakfast Club. A warm, welcoming space created to give our staff a peaceful start to their day or night and a place to unwind during their well-earned breaks. We wanted this to be more than just breakfast; we wanted it to be a small thank you for all the big things you do every single day, your positivity, and your constant dedication.
A heartfelt thank you to the families for your generous donations. A special appreciation goes to Paul, our incredible maintenance man, for helping bring this space to life with his hard work and support. And, a huge thank you to our Home Manager, Josi, whose guidance, encouragement, and unwavering support make all of this possible. We are truly grateful.
Here’s to many more mornings shared together 🥣☕️❤️

Our Home Manager, Josi George recently led an engaging orientation workshop for our new and existing staff as part of our ongoing Learning & Development programme. The session introduced key aspects of British culture, including traditions, celebrations, and values that shape everyday life in our community. Josi also provided a clear and supportive overview of what a care home is, highlighting our purpose, the standards we uphold, and the warm, person-centred environment we strive to create for every resident.
The workshop offered a welcoming space for staff to ask questions, build confidence, and deepen their understanding of the care sector, setting them up for success as part of our team.

What a wonderful start to the weekend!
Betty’s heart was completely lifted today when she received the sweetest surprise visit from a charming four-legged friend. With happy paws, warm cuddles, and endless tail wags, this little visitor brought so much joy and comfort to her day. It was the perfect reminder that the simplest moments can make the biggest difference. 🐾💛

We were delighted to welcome back the children from Fairhouse Primary School for our first visit of the new academic year as part of The Archie Project, our wonderful intergenerational programme that helps young people understand dementia through friendship, fun learning, and shared experiences.
Our residents always look forward to these visits. The smiles, laughter, and warmth they bring light up the whole home. It’s amazing to see how quickly bonds form between the children and our residents, turning each visit into something truly special.
A big thank you to the teachers, staff, and everyone involved for making it such a joyful afternoon. We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a restful festive season. We can’t wait to see you again in the New Year ❤️

🌺 𝐖𝐞 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐦 🌺
Today, Mundy House fell beautifully still as our residents gathered to honour those who gave so much for the lives we live today. In the soft hush of remembrance, stories were shared of courage, of loved ones and of moments that time can never erase. Some bowed their heads in quiet reflection; others spoke of memories that still live strong in their hearts.
Afterwards, warmth filled the room once more with marshmallows, melted chocolate, and gentle conversation. Laughter mixed with reflection, and it felt as though those we remembered were right there with us present in every smile, every story, every shared moment of peace.
Today reminded us that remembrance is not just about looking back. It’s about holding on to love, kindness, and togetherness in the world they fought to protect. ❤️

A little pampering goes a long way
Some of our lovely ladies enjoyed a relaxing manicure session with **Louise**, choosing their favourite colours and sharing smiles, stories, and plenty of laughter along the way.
It’s moments like these that remind us — self-care isn’t just about looking good, it’s about *feeling good too 💕

Sometimes the best friendships begin in the most ordinary moments. When Paul joined Mundy House as our maintenance man, he didn’t just fix things, he found a friend in David, and together they reminded us that true care is about more than work; it’s about connection.

𝑂𝑢𝑟 𝑠𝑡𝑜𝑟𝑦 𝑃𝑎𝑟𝑡 10 𝑤𝑟𝑖𝑡𝑡𝑒𝑛 𝑏𝑦 𝑁𝑎𝑡𝑎𝑠ℎ𝑎 𝐷𝑎𝑟𝑘

It started one quiet afternoon not long after Paul joined the team. As our maintenance man, Paul could fix just about anything leaky taps, squeaky doors, flickering lights. But what he didn’t expect to find was a friend who would come to mean so much more than a helping hand.
That day, as Paul crouched down to tighten a loose radiator valve, David wandered by, curious as ever. “Boss, doing it all wrong, you are,” David said with a cheeky grin.
Paul looked up, eyebrows raised. “Oh yeah? You fancy giving it a go then?”
And that was that. From that moment on, a friendship was born.
Over the weeks that followed, the two became inseparable around the home. Whenever Paul had a job to do, David wasn’t far behind with his cup of tea and a story ready to tell. Together, they’d make their way from room to room, fixing, chatting, and sharing laughter that echoed down the corridors.
Paul quickly learned that David had once been a bit of a handyman himself. “Built my own shed once,” David would say proudly, “lasted longer than the house!” Paul loved hearing his stories, not just about his days tinkering in the garden, or when he worked in the police force but about life, family, and the way things used to be.
Their friendship became something everyone noticed. You could see it in the way Paul listened to David’s advice, or the way David’s eyes would light up when Paul asked for his advice. Sometimes they’d spend an hour repairing something that could’ve been fixed in ten minutes, just because the company mattered more than the task.
But their bond wasn’t just about work. It was about connection. Two people from different worlds, different times, finding common ground in laughter, learning, and shared respect.
One rainy afternoon, Paul found David sitting by the back door watching the drizzle trace lines down the glass.
“Not much going on out there today, mate,” Paul said, sitting beside him.
David smiled faintly. “No, but it’s nice to have someone to watch it with.”
Moments like that showed what care is really about. Not just fixing things, but building things: trust, friendship, purpose. Paul never saw David as “just a resident” he saw a friend, a teacher, someone with stories worth hearing. And David never saw Paul as “just staff” he saw a mate who made the home brighter.
Now, when the sound of laughter fills the hallway, everyone smiles knowingly. It’s probably Paul and David fixing something, or maybe fixing nothing at all, except each other’s day.
Their friendship reminds us that in our home, connection can happen anywhere even with a wrench in hand and a good joke on the way.
