Its middle of the week, its Wellness Wednesday. And today is Thumb Appreciation Day - I know strange. Majority of people use their thumbs daily for so many reasons without thinking about it - typing, texting, writing, brushing your hair, doing buttons up, etc.
And I know myself as a massage therapist my thumbs are one of my main tools to use - they are free, they are always there, they have so much strength and control and able to get into awkward positions to release a bit of tension you maybe carrying.
But here is a quick massage guide to appreciate your thumbs.
♡ Gently press and rub the fleshy pad at the base of the thumb using small, slow circles.
♡ Massage along the sides of the thumb, moving from the base toward the tip.
♡ Carefully roll the thumb between the fingers and thumb of your other hand.
♡ Spend a little extra time on the “web space” between the thumb and index finger, which often holds tension from gripping, scrolling, and typing.
