Next week I’ll be talking to all my 1-1 clients about Christmas

If you know me you’ll already know my views on Xmas in November

If you don’t – I think all the Xmas merch in shops already is a tragedy

Call me scrooge, but by the time the 25th Dec arrives, the Xmas magic is lost on me

Anyway, what I’m not a Scrooge about is my clients

That’s why I start planning their December’s with them NOW

And to be honest I recommend you do the same

Why? Because, expectations

You need to set your expectations now, for how you’re going to slide into January

Half a stone lighter, half a stone heavier, or maintain?

There’s no right or wrong, everyone’s goals will be different

Most years most of my clients take at least a weeks (structured) diet break

And accept December might mean they will only lose a couple of lbs

Or worse case scenario, maintain

As they say, it’s a dam sight better than gaining half or a full stone they are used to

But to follow though on that expectation

That requires careful planning around social events, alcohol, parties etc

Manipulating calories on different days throughout the month

The best part? I will manage this for them

So it’s one less thing they have to think about during busy December

The black Friday offer I’ve been teasing?

That could be YOU I help manage……..

All will be revealed on Monday, so keep an eye on your inbox if you’re on my list

Or on socials

Love, Scrooge šŸ«¶šŸ»

ā€œI’ll go to the gym after work tomorrowā€

See the pattern emerging?

Oh, I have another good one to seal the deal actually

ā€œI’ll leave it for now and start my weight loss in Januaryā€

We all do it all the time, don’t we?

Promise ourselves something and never see it through

Let’s talk some numbers briefly

2026 is 8 weeks away

Summer, you tell yourself you’ll start in September, so add on another 4 weeks, minimum

That brings the total to 12 weeks of the year

12 weeks of the year you keep telling yourself you’ll start ā€œsoonā€

You and me both know you’ll remain overweight for a long time yet with that dialogue

You and me both also know I’m not here for scare mongering tactics

I just pure and simply want to help you

And that starts with helping you re-packaging your thoughts

And then helping you believe it’s possible to drop a dress size between now and 2026

And then another one in the new year

(OR… just not gain a stone over the Xmas period, whatever you choose)

If you’ve been sitting on the fence about working with me, I’ve got something for you

NOT ANOTHER BLACK FRIDAY SALE

Not a discount on my 6 month coaching package, but an epic no brainer bonus if you sign up in November

I’ll be dropping all the details soon, so keep an eye around here in the next few days

NOT ANOTHER BLACK FRIDAY DEAL 😳

I know what

I’ll run a Black Friday Sale and discount my coaching to ensure all my clients paying full price are truly pi**ed off

I’ll post it all over social media for an entire month to really rub it in their faces

Okay that’s a bit harsh

I get why some businesses do discounts at this time of year

But that doesn’t apply to coaching in my opinion

I’ve never done any sort of black Friday deal because of that

But maybe being a year older and wiser

(I said wiser, I didn’t call myself an adult by the way, that would be taking it one step too far)

In fact, what age do you actually become an adult? I have, a fiancƩe, 2 kids and a mortgage

And still ask my mum questions about finances, houses and everything in between

Anyway I digress

I’m not going to discount my coaching

But instead I might offer an incentive for all the ā€œsitters on the fencersā€

Let’s call it a BONUS if you sign up to a particular package

Yeah, that’s what I’m going to do

90% of the menopausal ladies I work with need a minimum of 6 months 1-1 coaching with me

So it makes sense to add a no-brainer bonus for the fence sitters to join that package

Let me sit on that (not the fence, probably just on my sofa)

And I’ll get back to you with my no brainer offer

Have a great rest of your Thursday šŸ«¶šŸ»

The plan was to walk Cody up to nursery, so that’s him dropped off and the dog has been walked

At that point Casey would be sleeping so I can get on and film some reels, plan out my social media posts and write a couple of emails for the week

I’d then feel accomplished and productive before picking Cody back up at 1pm

So I could then enjoy the rest of the afternoon with the babies until Ty gets home

That was Monday

It’s now Wednesday

No social media posts (apart from stories), no reels filmed and I’m just getting around to writing an email now

I love a plan, I’m a big fan of being organised and feeling productive

It’s a habit I like to encourage my clients to develop with food & meals

Not all of them, but the ones that know it works for them lean in to it and love it

Maybe you’re the same?

And if you are, my gosh isn’t it frustrating

Casey remained awake most of Monday morning and wasn’t happy chilling on her own

(These 2 month olds, seriously, they need to get a grip of their independence)

But sometimes things are just out of our control

And it’s never about the (thing) that went wrong

It’s how we respond to the situation, especially on a weight loss journey

I.e. don’t let the impulsive behaviour of turning to food creep in

I.e. one meal didn’t go to plan? Don’t let that overspill into the next 5 meals over the coming days

I.e. don’t panic, you can learn from the experience and adapt accordingly for next time

My learning lesson? Don’t rely on a 2 month old to be in a sleeping routine yet, haha

Janice had always carried a bit of extra weight but once menopause hit

The scales started climbing at a speed she wasn’t okay with.

The weird part?

She hadn’t changed much

Same routine. Same meals. Same weekends out.

Yet the number on the scales just kept creeping up.

When we started working together, I didn’t overhaul her diet or give her a boring meal plan

All Janice did was start tracking her food properly

And that tiny habit changed everything.

It gave her the clarity she needed to spot where the extra calories were sneaking in (mainly those weekend ā€œtreatsā€ she thought didn’t count)

She hasn’t cut out her favourite foods.

She hasn’t stopped socialising

She’s not even eating less, just smarter

And now? The weight’s coming off steadily… and she keeps saying

ā€œI can’t believe how easy this feels.ā€

If you’re an overweight menopausal yo-yo dieter who feels like nothing works anymore

DM me the word EAT, and I’ll show you how I helped Janice make weight loss simple again šŸ«¶šŸ»

This is the reason many of my clients want to lose weight:

ā€œSo I can be more present and keep up with my grandchildrenā€

I’m not a grandmother yet

But my kids have 3, and what I know for a sure fact is

Their grandparents are fit and healthy individuals

But I notice even they have their limits

No, I’m not here to call my parents old, slow and tired (we’ll save that for another post hahaha)

No, what I came here to say is

I, as a parent, see the magic in the kid/ grandparent relationship

And if I’m honest, I’m slightly jealous

As a parent I’m in the thick of the tiredness, the washing, the food prep and keeping the little humans alive

Grandparents get to just.. BE PRESENT (and hand them back at the end of the day)

I hope I’m articulating this as I mean it

But if you’re a grandparent, or hope to be one day

Why would you not push yourself to be a healthy weight

For you, for your future

But to make the precious time you have with your grandchildren the most fun, rewarding and fulfilling as humanly possible

Rather than having to sit down every 5 minutes because you’re out of breath

Or watch them play from the sofa, because that’s tiring enough

Sure, you have to do it for yourself

But it’s not a bad thing to have some almighty other powerful reasons why too

Take the example of this amazing client of mine

Size 22 down to 18, pushing into the 16’s now

If you’re an overweight menopausal yo-yo dieter and would like to turn it around for current/ future grandchildren

DM me with the word GRAND, and I’ll be in touch to see if working together would be a good fit for the both of us

ā€œBoys are like dogs, they need walking at least twice a dayā€

Someone said that to me recently (sorry, I can’t remember who to give them credit)

And being the owner of a black lab, whom I walk twice a day

AND the owner of a nearly 2 year old boy that won’t sit still for more than 8 seconds

I am in total agreement

Cody is here, there and everywhere

Where can I run?

What can I climb on?

Is this the most dangerous household object I can play with?

Attention span of a pea

And I know a lot of dieters find themselves in the same position

Hopping from one diet to the next

Looking for the cheapest quick fix

Wanting results to happen yesterday

And the point of today is this:

Young boys don’t know any better

But you do

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is

So you can waste another 10 years trying to shortcut your way to your size 12 jeans

Or you could get some proper, boring and unsexy professional help

And be in your size 12’s in a year or 2… AND stay there forever

If you’re ready for the latter, DM me with the number 12

And I’ll be in touch to see IF I can help you

(No I won’t take you on if I can’t guarantee I can help you achieve your dreams) šŸ«¶šŸ»

ā€œSocial peer pressure caloriesā€

I had an army of dieters up in arms screaming because they wanted to know more

Okay in reality, I had 3 people message me about that phrase I used in a post earlier this week

But I figured if it had sparked the interest of 3 of my loyal fans

Imagine how many lurkers I could help, by making an entire email about it

In the dictionary of Steph, social peer pressure calories means one thing

When you want to say no to calories you don’t want, but you can’t, so eat them anyway

Example 1: you’re in the office and there’s birthday cake, your colleague says, ā€œgo on, one slice won’t make a differenceā€

Example 2: you’re out to dinner with friends and everyone else is having a dessert and you don’t want to be the odd one out

My advice to my clients

The ones that smoothly manage to drop a dress size within the first 6 – 8 weeks they work with me follow this:

ā€œNO IS A FULL SENTENCEā€
. okay it’s not always that easy (sometimes it is)

I get that it depends on the scenario, environment, who you’re with etc

So instead of making this email the length of a thesis, I did something that’s much more convenient for you

And help you with tackling the social peer pressure calories with ease

I recorded an 18 minute podcast for you

To listen to it, all you need to do is comment below or DM me the word NO

And I’ll send it straight over

Have a great rest of your day

As a Brit at Uni in the USA, I would always come out of an exam saying

ā€œI think it went okay, we’ll have to seeā€

I’d then ask an American

ā€œOh, I smashed itā€

Both of us human beings

Sat the same exam

Totally different attitude towards the outcome

Being in the USA for 4 years I saw this difference often between the Brit and the Yanky attitudes

British = cautious, understated, doubtful

American = confident, bold, courageous

I don’t think either attitude is good or bad, just simply an observation

And in reality if I’m being perfectly honest, I think a blend between the 2 is probably optimal

And a place I wish more British dieters found themselves

Quietly confident that they can and will lose an entire stone by Xmas 2025

Courageous enough to say no to any peer pressured calories

Self esteem rising with every 1lb they lose

If you know a shift towards an American attitude will help with your dieting

But alone, feels impossible to achieve

DM me the word YANKY and I’ll show you how I can help

Everyone’s out here asking, ā€œWhat’s the best breakfast for menopausal weight loss?ā€ šŸ³

But that’s the wrong question

The truth? There’s no ā€œmagicā€ food that melts fat

Not eggs, not oats, not green smoothies

The real questions are things like:

āž”ļø How many calories should I allocate for breakfast?

āž”ļø How much protein do I need in that meal?

āž”ļø And… do I even like breakfast?

Once you start thinking that way, you stop chasing ā€œperfect foodsā€ and start building meals that actually work for you

I.e your body, your goals, your lifestyle

Because weight loss is a numbers game, not a punishment plan

Ask better questions to get better results šŸ’Ŗ

If you’re an overweight menopausal yo-yo dieter who’s sick of guessing what to eat

Follow me for realistic weight loss advice (and maybe an egg pun or two 🄚)

Julie used to let the scales ruin her week

She’d put in the effort , tracked every bite, hit every target…

but if the scales didn’t move?

That was it

Game over

She’d spiral into frustration, sadness, disappointment…

and before she knew it, she was raiding the cupboards to try and make herself feel better

Even when the scales dropped a pound or two, it still wasn’t enough

The number never reflected how hard she was trying

But when she started coaching with me, that changed

We worked on her relationship with the scales - hard

We still used them, but we focused on what they actually meant (and more importantly, what they didn’t)

We talked through mindset, emotions, self-worth, the stuff that actually matters when you’ve been a yo-yo dieter for decades

Because the truth is, some bodies just don’t show rapid scale changes, no matter how consistent you are

And Julie’s was one of them

So, for 8 weeks… the scales didn’t move

Not one bit

But her clothes told a different story

She’s down a full dress size , and she feels calm, confident, and finally in control again

Because weight loss isn’t about chasing the fastest drop on the scales

It’s about learning how to live in a body you love

without those tiny numbers dictating how you feel about yourself

And THAT is what 1-1 coaching, personalised to your unique background and barriers, is for

If you’re an overweight menopausal yo-yo dieter who feels trapped by the scales

DM me the word JULIE and I’ll show you how we changed the game for her, and how we can do the same for you too 😁
