As Christmas arrives, I wanted to share a gentle wish with you.

However the day looks for you, whether it’s busy or quiet, joyful or complicated, surrounded by others or spent alone, I hope there are moments of ease woven through it.

May you feel permission to rest when you need to.
To soften expectations.
To step back from the noise if it feels too much.

You don’t have to make this day perfect.
You don’t have to feel any particular way.
Being exactly where you are is enough.

Wishing you warmth, steadiness and moments of calm today.
Thank you for being part of the Infinite Harmony community.

Last week I had to press pause.

Having the flu meant cancelling classes, rescheduling clients and stepping back from the usual rhythm of work and family life. Even knowing it was the right thing to do, the guilt still crept in - that familiar feeling of letting people down.

What that week reminded me of (very clearly) is that rest isn’t indulgent or lazy - it’s how the body heals. Both yoga philosophy and modern physiology say the same thing in different languages: when the system is fighting infection, slowing down is part of the work.

I’ve written a short reflection on what that pause taught me - about listening to the body, letting go of expectations, and practising yoga off the mat.

If you’re feeling unwell, exhausted or stretched thin, I hope it offers a little reassurance.

Apologies to everyone for cancelling all classes and 121s this week. We have the dreaded flu in the Watson household. Poor Dominic is currently the only one not affected and is running around looking after 3 bedridden princesses!

Hopefully I'll be back teaching next week.

If you’ve been feeling slower, foggier or more tired than usual, nothing is wrong with you - your body is responding to winter exactly as it was designed to.

My new blog, Wintering Well, explores the physiology of the season and why our bodies ask for a different pace as the light changes.

This is not a lack of motivation - its biology, wisdom and ancient rhythm.

Hello December ❄️

A month for softening, slowing, wintering and tending to the inner world.
If your body is asking for gentleness right now - you’re right on time.

This month at Infinite Harmony, we’re exploring:
✨ Winter calm
✨ Nervous system nourishment
✨ Gentle movement
✨ Breath for anxiety
✨ Seasonal rituals

Let’s make December a season of rest that feels supportive, not overwhelming.

I’ve just shared a new blog that reflects on our Yoga Nidra session on 9th November, held in the soft, quiet energy just after Samhain.

During the session we explored:
🕯️ how to release what feels complete
🌿 moving gently through seasonal transition
🍁 the power of rest for the nervous system
❄️ preparing the body and mind for winter
✨ finding ease in the “in-between” spaces

If you couldn’t make it on the night, I hope this reflection brings a touch of the calm, grounding and spaciousness we shared together.

You can read it here → https://rpb.li/S71C

Thank you to everyone who attended - it was such a beautiful evening.

A Somatic Grounding Practice for Calm and Regulation

Try this short somatic grounding sequence if you’re feeling overstimulated:

🟫 1. Foot Pressing
Press your feet down for 3 seconds; release. Repeat twice.
This gives your nervous system a sense of safety and orientation.

🟫 2. Weighted Hands
Place your hands over your thighs. Feel the heaviness, the contact, the support.

🟫 3. Soft Exhale
Breathe in through the nose; exhale slowly through pursed lips.
This activates the vagus nerve.

🟫 4. Gentle Shoulder Drop
Lift your shoulders to your ears, hold 2 seconds, then let them drop heavily.

🟫 5. Look Around Slowly
Turn your head slightly left, then right, noticing shape, colour, and light.
This signals “I’m safe” to the brain.

A pocket-sized reset for busy minds and tired bodies.
