🌼 March has already been full of lovely moments here! 🌼

So far this month we’ve had lots going on. We celebrated St David’s Day with beautiful daffodils – every resident had a bunch in their room and we scattered them around the building. It really made the whole home feel like spring had arrived.

We also had a fantastic sing-along session, with lots of smiles and music filling the room and everyone enjoyed our baking club where we made delicious chocolate cornflake cakes.

Today we are looking forward to welcoming the Overton Primary Nursery children for a visit, which is always a special time for our residents.

With St Patrick’s Day just around the corner, it’s shaping up to be a busy but fun March! ☘️

✨ Chinese New Year Celebrations ✨

We celebrated Chinese New Year in style with a delicious Chinese meal prepared by our amazing chef, Siyani. 🥢🍜

The food was absolutely lovely and enjoyed by everyone, with both residents and staff getting to taste some wonderful Chinese cuisine. It was a great atmosphere and a lovely way for us all to come together and celebrate. 🎉

We had an absolutely fantastic day today welcoming Graham from Berkshire Reptiles into our home 🐍🦎

He introduced us to some amazing reptiles, each with their own unique personality:

🐍 Snakes – Viscount, Pratchett & Enid
🦎 Bearded Dragons – Mulan & Princess Leia
🐢 Tortoise – Dozer
🦎 Skink – Gryffindor

There were lots of smiles, laughter and some very brave residents and staff who enjoyed getting up close and even holding them! It was such a wonderful, interactive experience and sparked so many conversations throughout the day.

A huge thank you to Graham for making it such a memorable visit again. We can’t wait to welcome you back! 💚

We would like to say a huge thank you to Natalie Gunn for coming in and singing to us.
We had a fantastic afternoon singing along and dancing — it really lifted everyone’s spirits and brought so many smiles to our faces.

We truly appreciate you sharing your time and talent with us and we hope to welcome you back again soon!

A huge thank you to the wonderful Kim who comes in monthly to run Memory Choir with us, something we’ve been lucky enough to be doing for a couple of years now 💫

Kim is a true inspiration and has an amazing way of getting everyone involved: residents, family members, friends and staff all coming together through the power of singing 🎶

We also love the Memory Choir events Kim organises. Our most recent one at Wi******er University, where we sang Christmas songs alongside other care homes, was a truly magical experience and one we’ll never forget ✨

Thank you Kim for your passion, dedication and for bringing so much joy and connection to so many people 💛

A big thank you to Billy Clayton for coming in the day before Christmas Eve. We had a fantastic time dancing and singing along!
Billy brings such a brilliant vibe to his performances with all his jokes — we can’t wait to see him again 🎶💃🕺

What a lovely way to celebrate New Year’s Day, a delicious roast beef and a homemade cheesecake by our amazing chef Siyani!

We finished off the year by celebrating New Year’s Eve with the Cinderella pantomime from Carousel Productions, followed by a buffet for tea. Everyone absolutely loved the pantomime and haven’t stopped talking about how good it was! Happy New Year to everyone 🥳

What a wonderful day we’ve had! Santa visited this morning and then we enjoyed an amazing three-course meal. A huge thank you to all the staff for making today so special — Merry Christmas! 🎄💛
