The Annual Passing Out Parade of the Basingstoke Fire Cadets was attended by VIP representatives from Hampshire County Council (HCC), including:
• Professor Khalid Aziz LVO DL, representing the Vice Lord-Lieutenant (and ultimately His Majesty The King)
• Cllr Rhydian Vaughan MBE, Chairman of the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Authority (HIWFRA)
• Cllr David Drew, HIWFRA Conservative Group Representative
• Cllr Stephen Paker, HIWFRA Vice Chairman (Conservative Group)
The cadets delivered an in-depth and highly professional demonstration, showcasing a range of operational drills. These included a simulated road traffic accident (RTA) involving casualties receiving appropriate first aid treatment from paramedics.
The onsite fire drill tower was accessed and egressed safely and skilfully, ending with a light-hearted moment as Santa descended the ladder once the area had been declared safe 🎅🚒
Further demonstrations included deployment techniques such as hose running-out, along with correct rolling and stowing procedures in preparation for subsequent use.
Certificates were awarded to all the fire cadets and instructors.
Congratulations and very well done to you all!

Our Silchester Let’s Movers enjoyed their end-of-year celebration today. A shortened seated exercise session was performed to Christmas songs, followed by tea, coffee, nibbles and pass-the-parcel.
Janet, Dee and Michelle received gifts from the class participants and were further delighted by an unexpected visit from the office staff, who arrived with flowers and wine to say thank you for all the support and hard work provided throughout the year. Kind and thoughtful gestures which were appreciated more than you'll ever know.

What a smashing festive afternoon at SOL! 🎅🎶 We were delighted to be joined by Santa himself, who even took part in our seated exercises to Christmas music. The afternoon continued with tea and a wonderful spread of mince pies, chocolates, crisps and cakes, followed by pass the parcel and lots of smiles and laughter. Thank you to everyone who came along and helped to make it such a lovely, Christmassy afternoon

We were delighted to be invited to the Leg Club Christmas event today, where the festive decorations, a generous spread of food, and an impressive array of raffle prizes created a truly joyful atmosphere. Our Community Champions, Janet and Dee, were honoured to support the occasion and delivered a cheerful Christmas sing-along for the lovely participants.
A heartfelt well done to Pam and all the amazing volunteers for their hard work and dedication in bringing this event together — you made the day a great success.
