Basingstoke Mencap Basingstoke Mencap is a Registered Charity (Number 1085576) affiliated to Royal Mencap Society.

We are Basingstoke Mencap, an independent charity providing support and services for children, young people, and adults with a learning disability and their family carers in the Basingstoke area. We are self governed and managed which allows for a more flexible service tailored to the needs of our members. We provide services to people with learning disabilities in the Basingstoke area. Services include:

* Mondays - May Club - 7-9pm - disco and activities at the Ridgway Centre CLOSED
* Tuesday - Bingo - 10-11am at the Ridgway Centre
* Wednesday - Life Skills - 10-11.30 - at the Ridgeway Centre.
* Wednesdays 1-2.30- Sports Club at the Ridgway Centre

Ø One-to-one support in the home
Ø One-to-one support in the community

Our funds are raised through our support service, grants, donations, membership subscriptions and fundraising events. We have a team of 7 support workers providing one-to-one support for people to access community and leisure activities, education and work opportunities and to increase independence in their home. We intend to increase the number of support workers by two this year and support 2 more clients. As an agency we undertake to support adults with a learning disability but within this remit our client group is diverse and includes young people, older people and people with mental health issues or physical disabilities.

Dear all lovely Mencap service users
After asking lots of you where you would like to go this year for our annual trip , you all said Longleat .
So this year to keep costs down with the coach trip which was £720 for the day last year . We have decided to have a sponsored walk and a tea party in April to raise money for the trip so it doesn’t cost you too much .
We will be doing the sponsored walk around Eastrop again and a tea party with a disco and games at the Roger Morris Centre
Debbie is working on all the details and she will give you all the information when it’s organised .
Please let me know if this is something you would like to do . After all it’s all for you !!
