Would you want to make these swaps in your content?

to me, it feels so much better, but I know it won’t be for everyone

personally, the main ‘ick’ of social media at the moment is people telling me what I NEED TO/SHOULD/MUST do, so I’m rapidly unfollowing these accounts because I don’t like being spoken to like that! Is anyone else feeling the same?

If you give really direct instructions:

"You must register your email now before it's too late"

You'll get a different kind of person approach you from if you say:

"You know how to get in touch if you want to know more."

Which feels more natural to you? I don't believe one style is inherently better than the other at generating interest. What feels rude to one person is clear to another. What feels calm to someone else might be wishy-washy to the next person.

Do you agree? Have you experimented with this in your own marketing?

FEBRUARY felt like coming back to life ☀️ 🎉

This January was a tough one, so it made the return of the sun so much sweeter 🫶🏼 Bring on March 🌼

The overwhelm is REAL! Who can you trust?

With access to crazy amounts of information, it feels more important than ever that we can learn to put what we see and hear through our own personal filtering systems.

Does it feel good to you? How does it land in your body?

I've experienced this with health guidance recently, but it's the same when it comes to marketing. How do you know who to listen to for advice and support, and who's sweeping you away in a money-making scheme, and who might be (inadvertently) leading you away from your true self?

Only you can learn to answer this question by considering how it feels when you listen to people speak or read their writing. Learning what resonates with us and what doesn't is one of the ways we become more 'ourselves' and less performative.

Never underestimate the silent watchers. I think that one of the most of the most beautiful things about this weird human existence is the way we pass ideas and energy between each other in a way that is sometimes imperceptible.

One comment can stay with someone for years, and the person who said it might never know...

Bringing it back to business and marketing; often people are passively aware of you and your work for 𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙨 before getting in touch, or referring you to someone who's a perfect fit. This is especially common in service-based businesses, and even more common when the price point is higher. The trust and relationship takes time to build, and we don't always get it validated every step of the way.

So, this one's for the silent watchers! It's great to know you're here 💗 Although it it always lovely for our confidence and our algorithm if you give us business owners a little like every now and again... if you feel like it... no pressure ;)

I'm back at again on 22nd March for a day retreat of yoga, garden wandering and beach time, before we enjoy a delicious Trebah lunch and an afternoon of vision boarding to ease into spring with a sense of play and relaxation 🎉

Each time I hold these I love them more, and it's such a joy to spend time with all the wonderful souls who come along!

If you'd like to book for yourself or a loved one (or both!), head to the link in my bio and purchase your tickets - just 10 spaces available. For a bespoke gift voucher, send me a DM or email and I can make you a digital copy.

We've kept the price at £68 (£62 for Trebah members) which is the same as the last two years and an absolute steal compared to most retreat days at the moment!

Lunch, yoga and a full day of held space together, 10am-4pm (I really *should* have increased the price but it was simpler to keep it the same, so come and enjoy and make the most of it✨)

As always, message me with any questions, I'm here to reply!

There’s a danger that we dismiss our magic and talents for years because they feel ‘too easy’… it might be hard to give them value if we’ve been taught that ‘nothing good comes easy’ 🤦🏼‍♀️

Is there anything that you didn’t do, or aren’t doing, because you believe that work has to be hard or taxing? 🌙

(I've purposely left a typo in the graphics as a challenge for you to find it... definitely not because it's a faff to re-upload!! Gold star to the first to point it out ⭐)

Now onto the post:

Regularly re-evaluating what's working well in your business is so useful.

The conclusion I came to is that I love creating useful content and offering free or very low-cost coaching style work, but I've had a block about SELLING coaching.

It's because the ick of the pushy coaches puts me off entirely! If I was coaching myself on this I would say:

- voice what it is that you don't like, your ideal clients probably feel the same
- think about the kind of coaching you do like, and have invested in, and map out what felt really good about the sales process that guided you there

Nothing sneaky or pushy about this.
Just good alignment.

AND on my to-do list for this Spring is to create more of a plan and a flow that makes my coaching easier for people to invest in. If you'd like to get ahead of the game, send me a message ⚡

Sooo, I’m the kind of ‘content creator’ who hesitates before sharing travel pictures because I don’t want to bum people out when they’re at home in the rain…

BUT I am so freaking proud of myself for managing to get away ⚡️ A simple NQY -> Malaga flight and week on retreat is super easy for some people, but I find travel so disorientating that’s it’s a massive comfort zone stretch for me. Public transport, lack of control, overstimulation and being alone are all huge triggers that I am determined not to let stop me from exploring 🌍

(This is from ya gal who had a complete meltdown driving to Fistral from Falmouth the other week because the road was closed, I then went the wrong way and it took an hour and a half 🤦🏼‍♀️)

Honestly though, I had got so low and stuck in January that I HAD to move, change the energy and reset, even if that takes a lot of effort to do. Now I’m here and soaking it all in, feeling so inspired and planning the next steps again, which I’d got so disillusioned and lost interest in. Also, having a LOT of naps because I am completely exhausted! 💛💛

Small steps 👣 staying in motion… 💫

The Two Most Important Questions in Marketing:

Marketing, for me, is all about connection and communication. I love finding the magic in what somebody is doing, and sharing it with others who will also recognise it as special. This creates connection between people, and builds relationships. There is trust, excitement, gratitude, relief, recognition and then also money exchanged.

There is a whole other side to marketing, based on data and ad placement, which works really well for some brands but honestly bores me to tears.

I can do some SEO and set up a paid ad, but to me there is no point doing this unless the pure, core messaging is on point first. That's the bit I get excited about.

The first question:

Do you know what you're doing and why it matters?

(It's honestly amazing how often this is unclear... personally, I have to revisit this question all the time and often have a coach help me come back to a solid answer.)

The second question:

Do you know who you want to share it with and why it matters to them?

(This sometimes feels easier for me because it's further away, and I know how to collect information to make this part really strong.)

Once these questions are answered, then I can start planning visuals, copy, taglines, websites, strategies etc. It's like starting a building project on solid ground rather than on quicksand.

If you'd like help exploring these questions, I'd first suggest journaling or talking to someone you know about them. Get all your ideas out and be open to exploring new answers. This might bring a huge amount of clarity and be enough for you to move forwards. Hooray!

If you find it overwhelming to brainstorm this on your own, send me a message to hello@strengthinfeathers.com and we can talk about a coaching session, or ongoing marketing support, to get you moving in the right direction again.

Once you've done some journaling or chatted about this, I'd LOVE you to let me know how it helped, it's so good to hear when people make breakthroughs from these prompts!
