Job of the Week: Physical Activity Coordinator

Do you have a passion for physical activity and supporting people with learning disabilities, autism or mental health needs? This is a rare chance to help shape a brand‑new specialist inpatient service at Blackberry Hill Hospital.

We’re looking for someone who can design and deliver safe, motivating and personalised exercise programmes, working closely with our service lead physiotherapist and wider multi‑professional team. You’ll use onsite fitness spaces, outdoor areas and community opportunities to help people build confidence, wellbeing and healthier routines.

Kingfisher Welcome Day!

Around 50 colleagues from across our inpatient and outreach teams came together for the very first Kingfisher Welcome Day - a chance to meet new teammates, share experiences and start shaping the culture of our brand-new service.

With most of the team now recruited, the Welcome Day at the Spitfire Hangar in Filton was a brilliant opportunity to connect, collaborate and explore the "Kingfisher Vision" together.

We're excited to be recruiting an Education Mental Health Practitioner to join our Mental Health Support Team in Bristol.

This role has a direct and lasting impact on children and young people. As an EMHP, you'll work in local primary and secondary schools, offering early, evidence-based support for mild to moderate anxiety, low mood and behavioural challenges. You'll also help shape whole-school approaches to wellbeing, supporting pupils, families and teachers.

By providing timely mental health support where young people spend most of their day, EMHPs play a vital role in helping children feel safe, confident and able to learn.

Beechlydene Ward at Fountain Way Hospital is looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join a warm, experienced inpatient team with a clear ambition: to deliver the best working-age adult inpatient care in the region. This is a role for someone who wants to shape high-quality, recovery-focused treatment while driving meaningful improvements on the ward.

You’ll work closely with nurses, psychologists, OTs and support staff to strengthen safety, embed innovative practice, support carers and enhance psychoeducation for patients. Alongside your clinical responsibilities, you’ll contribute to Salisbury’s weekly academic programme, teach junior doctors and medical students, and take part in PDP groups, peer supervision and fully supported CPD.
