Great for your heart, but doing HIT every day can leave you burnt out and injured.

🥛Greek yogurt: 10/10
The easiest protein-packed snack that actually tastes good. Unless lactose doesn’t agree with you, this one’s a winner.

💊Creatine: 11/10
The only supplement with real science backing both physical AND cognitive benefits. If you’re taking one thing, make it this.

🧘‍♀️Pilates: 7/10
Love it for mental wellness and movement, but let’s be honest - for real bone strength and body changes in our 40s+, you need proper strength training too.

Carbs are fuel and bloody delicious!!!

I am not the kind of coach who tells you to eliminate things from your diet. Especially things that bring joy to your life. Alcohol is always a tricky one to deal with because everyone’s relationship with it is different.

It IS possible to reach your goals without entirely restricting booze. But you may need to cut back and have some boundaries put in place to help you get there!

Here are the “”booze-rules”” my clients follow (especially on those nights where they know it could turn messy):

👉 We set a max-drink rule BEFOREHAND
Pick the drinks before the night starts, stick to wine or spirits with soda, and rotate with water.
Still fun. Still social. Zero “why did I do that?” the next morning.

👉 We eat BEFORE going out
Protein + veg or salad.
This kills the wine-munchies, keeps you in control, and stops the 11pm snack-a-thon before it even begins.

👉 We choose ONE next-morning non-negotiable
A 30-min walk.
1L of water.
Logging breakfast.

Just ONE anchor habit so the night out doesn’t roll into a whole week/holiday blowout.

This is exactly what I do and exactly what I teach - because staying consistent isn’t about perfection.

Nobody posts this version of chasing their dream. I’m going to.

Last month we made the biggest, boldest move in our business history. You saw that.

Here’s what you didn’t see. Behind the scenes I was sick, scattered, and stretched so thin I had nothing left for the people I love most.

😴 Sleep - I was falling into bed exhausted and waking up wired. Reaching for sleeping tablets more nights than I’d like to admit just to switch my brain off.

🥗 Nutrition - Coffee for breakfast. Toast and peanut butter for lunch. Greens? A distant memory. Cooking wholesome meals for my family? Frozen ready meals became our saving grace.

👫 Relationships - My husband looked at me and said, “You’re just not with it.” And my 8-year-old screamed: “Put your phone down and LISTEN to me.” Both completely right.

😵‍💫 Stress - Our team has more than doubled. We’ve taken a business loan. The financial weight sits entirely on my shoulders and circles my mind every single night like a weight I can’t put down.

🤒 Health - I never get sick. So when I woke up after our Cape Town launch barely able to swallow, chest on fire, I knew my body had finally said enough. I begged the doctor for everything - antibiotics, cortisone, all of it.

The painful irony? Every single one of these is something I coach my 1:1 clients on. I know the lessons. I teach the lessons. And for an entire month, I was living in direct opposition to every single one of them.

It’s not glamorous. It’s not pretty. But this is the season I’m in - and the highs and lows are the price of the privilege.

I am 42 today!
Here’s what life, motherhood, and fitness have taught me:

1️⃣ No one is thinking about your life as much as you think they are. Once you realise this, you stop holding yourself back.

2️⃣ Nothing has to be forever. You can take the job. You can move countries. You don’t need the whole future figured out to be okay with where you are right now.

3️⃣ Growth only happens in discomfort. In training. In motherhood. In relationships. In business.

4️⃣ Your life partner will either make you or break you - emotionally, mentally, physically. The same is true of your business partner.

5️⃣ Having children is the greatest privilege of my life… and also the hardest job I’ll ever do.

6️⃣ Turning 40 shifted something in me. Less people-pleasing. More truth. Saying no without guilt. Having the honest conversations. Picking up the phone (this is a big one for me).

7️⃣ Moving countries taught me that you can rebuild yourself more than once - but it takes courage, patience, and showing up when it’s uncomfortable.

8️⃣ Fitness mirrors life. Results don’t come from perfection. They come from consistency. From effort. From showing up tired. From choosing the long game.

9️⃣ The longevity trifecta matters more every year: sleep + movement + stress management. Everything feels harder when one of these is out of sync.

🔟 You will never regret a workout - not because of how it makes you look, but because it reminds you what you’re capable of.

1️⃣1️⃣ If you have healthy, willing, and able grandparents who want to be actively involved in your life - you are more than blessed.

Our Story

Hi, my name is Ash! I am a mother of two boys and a little girl, and I am addicted to health and fitness. I am a qualified personal trainer with a special interest in pre & postnatal fitness. I would love nothing more than to guide you through a fit and healthy pregnancy or to assist you in losing your baby weight once your little one has arrived. My Story From a young age I discovered my passion for exercise, partaking in various sports at a provincial level. I studied a commerce degree at the University of Cape Town for 4 years and this is where my love for running really transpired. I started doing half marathons which lead to full and ultra marathons and which finally culminated in completing the Comrades marathon in 2010. When I fell pregnant with my first born, the first questions which crossed my mind were: - Can I still run and go to gym? - Do I need to stop weight training? - How will exercise affect my baby? - At what intensity can I train at? - How do I nutritionally compensate for the extra calories I am burning both in the gym and by growing a baby? - Once my baby has arrived, how will exercise affect my milk supply when I am breastfeeding? I started researching and found the information to be overwhelming and often contradictory. This inspired me to study personal training and to specialize in pre & postnatal fitness. I am also a qualified group training instructor for an amazing fitness company called SWEAT 1000. These classes specialize in HIIT (high intensity interval training) which I am a firm believer in being one of the best ways to burn calories and become seriously fit. And so here I am today - sharing my experience and love of exercise through FitMom. I provide the following services:
