We're celebrating another incredible group of students from the University of Bath for their support of ReMind UK.

Through a brilliant charity quiz night and raffle at The Chocolate Quarter in Keynsham, and a bake sale on their university campus, they've raised an amazing £502.50!

Every penny will go towards ReMind UK’s work to advance dementia research and deliver vital support in the community for people living with dementia.

Alongside their fundraising efforts, the team helped raise awareness of our work, distributed leaflets and volunteered at our support events.

A huge thank you for helping us get ahead of dementia!

Who is ReMind UK’s Brain Health Clinic for?

Recently, we welcomed Ian to our Brain Health Clinic and asked him exactly that.

With dementia in his family, Ian is a strong advocate for taking care of your brain health early. After his appointment, he shared just how useful (and surprisingly enjoyable) he found the experience.

“I’m going to encourage everyone I know to take part, particularly if there’s dementia in the family.”

Watch Ian’s video in full and hear all about his experience on our website.

👉Our special offer ends on 28th February! Book an appointment today and receive £50 off.

Creativity, Connection and Good Company

Some lovely photos from last week’s visit to The Holburne Museum, the first event in our 2026 programme of support 💜

The group enjoyed a guided tour of the current Zandra Rhodes exhibition, followed by refreshments and an opportunity to create their own designs inspired by what they’d seen. This creative, relaxed and enjoyable session was a lovely start to the year!

Many people are aware that physical inactivity can increase the risk of developing dementia, but did you know that there's also an association between hearing loss and dementia risk?

The 2024 Lancet Report identified hearing loss as one of 14 modifiable risk factors for dementia. The cause of this link is still being researched but theories include reduced social interaction and reduced brain stimulation over time.

Being aware of this association allows us to be proactive. Protecting your hearing, booking a hearing test if you’re concerned and wearing hearing aids if recommended may help support future brain health 💜

For our final student volunteer focus this week, meet Keyuri, a penultimate-year Business student at the University of Bath .

Keyuri began volunteering with ReMind UK at our Chat, Make and Move sessions simply to try something new, and quickly found it to be a fulfilling and rewarding experience 💜

What started as a new opportunity soon became a positive escape from studies, never feeling like a chore.

"I love volunteering with ReMind UK, I've made some great friendships through it and I get to learn so much from supporting the people but also from the people directly..."

Inspired to try something new and support those living with dementia too? Please get in touch 👉https://www.reminduk.org/remind-uk-volunteering/

As we continue our Student Volunteering Week spotlights, we’re celebrating all the students who volunteer with ReMind UK... and sometimes, those journeys come full circle💫

Stuti volunteered with ReMind UK in 2024 while completing her MSc in Applied Clinical Psychology at the University of Bath , recognising that the charity’s work closely reflected her interests, particularly in older person care.

“I thoroughly enjoyed volunteering at ReMind UK’s Chat, Make & Move sessions during my studies. It was a rewarding opportunity to give back, meet new people and learn from new experiences."

As she finished her master’s, Stuti spotted a vacancy within our psychology team... and the rest is history! She is now a valued member of ReMind UK staff, continuing to make a difference in dementia care and support 💜

You never know where a volunteering journey might lead!

If you’re a student thinking about volunteering, we'd love to hear from you - https://www.reminduk.org/remind-uk-volunteering/
