Excellent article & call to action from Soil Association
on what Government could do to address the very serious issues raised by programme on what we feed our kids.
This is also about food technology which manipulates taste buds to want more and to crave more. "An emerging body of evidence suggests they can undermine our health in unexpected ways, including by diminishing the gut microbiome, and perhaps by disrupting the endocrine system and appetite pathways in the brain, prompting us to overeat. "

On BBC One tonight, Dr Chris van Tulleken looks at the UK’s addiction to ultra-processed foods in his documentary "What are we feeding our kids?". How can we rebalance our diets in the UK?

Thanks to my lovely friend, Celia, who told me about this course, I decided to complete the Zero Su***de Alliance training. I highly recommend it and feel better able to help someone who may be thinking of taking their life.

The Zero Su***de Alliance (ZSA) is a collaboration of National Health Service trusts, charities, businesses and individuals who are all committed to su***de prevention in the UK and beyond. We are an alliance of people and organisations coming together around one basic principle: Su***de is preventa...

To celebrate March’s full moon I am including an illustration from one of my favourite artists, Hasui Kawase (May 18, 1883–November 7, 1957). Hasui is a master of shin hanga — the “new prints” movement fusing traditional Japanese art with the Western aesthetics of light. He loved nature but nothing inspired him more than trees. I feel a calm tranquility looking at his work.

The Full Moon tonight is traditionally known as the Worm Moon in the northern hemisphere, as it comes at the end of winter when the ground begins to thaw. NASA executive Gordon Johnston said that this month’s moon could be considered a “supermoon” by some definitions due to its proximity to Earth.

Happy Full Moon.

"I exercise, I eat healthy food and I still can't shift this weight" heard almost every week in my clinic. My answer is usually the same: we need to find what metabolic or biochemical imbalances and lifestyle factors are present that are stopping those kgs from shedding.

A multitude of underlying causes can affect weight loss from gut health, stress and hormones ... to name a few. Just eating a 'healthy diet' and exercising doesn't always work especially as we get older.
