📚✨ Happy World Book Day from our Neonatal Unit ✨

Even the tiniest babies can enjoy the magic of stories. Reading to your baby supports bonding, comfort, and early development - and creates special moments together during their neonatal journey.

Because every little story begins somewhere 💛

A BIG Thank You to the South West Neonatal Network for the amazing donation of beautiful books 💛

✨Infant feeding ✨
The early days with your new baby/babies can seem overwhelming, especially when new challenges arise.

From local support groups for parents in the BaNES, Swindon and Wiltshire areas, to national organisations offering help and information on breastfeeding and bottle feeding - these resources offer free or low cost support to all.

Available under resources on our website or: padlet.com/BSWMVP/infantfeeding

💬 If you’d like to share your infant feeding experience with us, send us a message or fill out our anonymous survey: www.bswmaternityvoices.org.uk/leave-feedback

After your feedback saying you were missing medication, RUH are now administering medication for women and birthing people on the neonatal unit, as well as on Mary Ward.

We want to hear from women and birthing people whose babies were cared for on the neonatal unit and who needed to take medication during that time.

Did receiving your medication on the unit help you stay close to your baby? How did it affect your experience, and how did it make you feel?

Please share your thoughts – what worked well, and what could be improved.

You can:
• Comment on this post
• Message us privately
• Or share anonymously via our survey: www.bswmaternityvoices.org.uk/leave-feedback

Your feedback helps shape better care for families on the neonatal unit.

Lovely to see Ozzy, now one year old, and his parents today. Santa is very grateful for the books they fundraised to provide for the babies’ stockings this Christmas. The elves love a helping hand 🥰

Happy World Prematurity day from us to you 💜Thinking of all our babies past and present 🥰

On this day we invite you to share your stories and photos of your babies currently being looked after in a neonatal unit and our lovely nicu graduates 💜

The RUH is supporting WPD by lighting up these beautiful purple lights all around the hospital!
World prematurity day is a global movement created to raise awareness of premature birth and the impact it can have on families

We are all very fortunate to do the job we do and to provide the care we provide for our families 🫶🏼💜
