Always nice when us Sports Therapists MSST receive an uplifting email from the head of our governing body....
Looking Forward & Feeling Proud
Dear Adeleine,
Looking Forward & Feeling Proud
On behalf of the Board of Directors, Officers and Staff of The Society of Sports Therapists I would like to take this opportunity of wishing all Members a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous 2017.
The forthcoming year also promises to be an extremely interesting one too and one during which the Society will continue to actively lobby politicians, sports governing bodies, NHS commissioners and other stakeholders on behalf of its Members.
In the meantime, recognition of both The Society of Sports Therapists and its Members continues to grow, both nationally and internationally.
The Society continues to be frequently contacted for its advice, expertise and support. Much of this is due to both the professionalism of the Members and the services and skills that they provide at all levels of the sport, exercise and healthcare spectrum.
Members should always realise that they are the best ambassadors that The Society of Sports Therapists has and, as such, can do more for both the profession and the Society than they often appreciate. It is through Members’ actions and professionalism that the Society has continued to grow and be recognised, for not only its governance but its educational and academic attributes as well. Therefore, as a Member of The Society of Sports Therapists you should be proud of not only your profession but also what it has achieved in the relatively short time that it has been in existence.
Members should also acknowledge that academically and practically, it is Members of The Society of Sports Therapists who are recognised, appreciated and wanted. Also, that it is this status that is being recognised as the benchmark standards of care and duty. Therefore, it is only those who feel threatened by your knowledge, skills and expertise who are being negative about you, your profession and this organisation. Consequently, it is up to Members to put them right by both their actions and professionalism.
It can only have a positive effect.
In the meantime, best wishes & kind regards
Yours sincerely
Professor Graham N Smith
Chairman
For and on behalf of The Society of Sports Therapists
