Hi, I’m B, and Independent celebrant.
With personal experience of loss, I pride myself in supporting families with making a funeral a celebration and honouring a loved one who's passed. What made them unique, quirky, fun?
How would you want to be remembered on your last hurrah?
I am here to help guide you through these difficult times and devise a fitting tribute to forever hold in your memories.
Like with any Celebration these days. you can do almost whatever you want to make a funeral service personal to your wants and needs. I am here to support you through this process at a very difficult time.
Having an independent celebrant means you can incorporate religious or non-religious elements, or a bit of both. You can add family traditions and themes to make the service truly unique.
I will spend time to really get to know the person who has passed and you as a family, writing a ceremony that really captures their personality and the life they led.
You can include readings, prayers, songs, live music, almost anything is possible.
Alongside the Funeral Director, together we can plan and organise a personalised way to celebrate the life of your loved one. Allowing you to say goodbye with a fitting tribute.
Bereavement is a journey of many paths, l can hold your hand some of the way.

Hello
My name is Sara. I’ve been a celebrant for nearly 4 years - a job I am really passionate about.
Working with families suffering the loss of a loved one is such a huge honour, and one I take very seriously. Having said that, I’m not a formal person and have a down to earth, calm and friendly approach to my work. Having a project management background, I am also very organised and love a spreadsheet ! I am currently undertaking a Bereavement Counselling course, to gain a deeper understanding of loss, even though I’ve also had my fair share of grief, after losing my parents and both my brothers.
In my spare time, I love to be creative and enjoy painting - and I teach a small Mixed Media class once a month.
However, I know that being a Celebrant is the career I was meant to do and I’m so glad I found it.“

Hello, I’m Duncan.

Before becoming a celebrant, I spent 25 years as a secondary school teacher, including time as a Head of Sixth Form. Standing up in front of people and finding the right words has always been a big part of my life, but it’s in this work that those words really matter.

Being invited into a family’s life at such a difficult time is something I never take for granted. I take time to listen, to understand, and to gently bring together the stories, the character, and the little details that make each person unique. No two lives are the same, and I believe no two funerals should be either.

I’m not especially formal, and I tend to bring a calm, friendly and grounded presence. Families often tell me they feel at ease, which matters, because the best ceremonies, for me, are the ones where people can reflect, remember, and occasionally even smile at the memories being shared.

Outside of work, I live in a Wiltshire village with my partner, and enjoy being part of the local community. I’ve always loved music and being around people, and I think that sense of connection finds its way, gently, into the way I shape and deliver a ceremony.

For me, this role is about telling someone’s story with honesty, warmth, and care, and helping families say goodbye in a way that truly feels right for them.

It was a pleasure to attend the VIP Day celebrating the opening of Darcey gardens care Home in Bath.

As a brand-new care home, Darcy Gardens has been thoughtfully created with residents’ comfort, dignity and wellbeing at its heart. The beautifully designed surroundings, welcoming atmosphere and passionate team all reflect an exciting new chapter for care in the local community. It was wonderful to meet the staff, connect with fellow professionals and see firsthand the dedication that has gone into making this home so special.

Opening a new care home is a significant milestone, not just for the team but for the families who will place their trust in them. It is clear that Darcy Gardens is committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care in a setting that truly feels like home.

We are very much looking forward to building a strong and supportive relationship with Darcy Gardens Care Home as they begin this new journey.
