We’re incredibly proud to share that our TCO, Lydia Hardy , has written a beautiful children’s book — The Magician of Rook Lane — with 100% of proceeds donated to Focus Counselling in Frome.

The book features poetic rhymes and charming illustrations, designed to appeal to both children and adults. It celebrates kindness, imagination and the quiet magic shared by grandparents and loved ones.

Lydia created the book to celebrate “all Grandfathers past and present who quietly share their magic, and everyone who shares their kindness and love with others.”
Through its pages, a gentle story of adventure and hope encourages children to be creative, explore the world around them and be compassionate — to themselves and others.

“Children’s mental health is so important, and I wanted to support affordable, local counselling that’s accessible to those who need it.”

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that we have been awarded £20,000 from The National Lottery Community Fund to fund our low cost counselling service to those in need in our community! This is huge news for us. We currently offer subsidised counselling to approximately 80% of our clients in Frome, Wells, and Bath. That's an average monthly spend of around £6,000!

The Focus team would like to pass on their VERY grateful thanks to the Toad of Rode: Returns. & the extremely generous Rode villagers for raising £2,000 for both Dorothy House & Focus Frome! The money raised will go towards offering free & low cost counselling to those in need in our community 🫶

We are delighted that our impromptu Quiz Night for Ukraine raised £1,081. Today we posted off £540.50 to British Red Cross Appeal! The rest will go towards helping to support Ukrainian refugees wanting to access counselling in Bath & Focus Frome x💛🇺🇦💙

🇺🇦Thank you to Prior Park for hosting us for our fun quiz - led by the brilliant Mike Morris - raising funds for Ukraine and free counselling for the refugees. We were humbled by the generosity of all the many people who filled the mansion hall and made the event such a success. James Lindsay did us proud by managing the evening so brilliantly. Thank you.
