At Nicola’s, everything we do is built on kindness, compassion, and the incredible people who give their time to support other women. Today, we want to shine a light on our amazing volunteer team 🌸
Our volunteers bring a wealth of experience, knowledge, care, and understanding, including:
⭐️ Mental Health Nurses
✨ General nurses
✨ Social Work Emergency Support
✨ A Psychologist
✨ A Perinatal Mental Health Nurse
✨ A Student Support Worker
⭐️ And lots of others with life experience, compassion and empathy
⭐️ Many of us are PVG certified
⭐️ Many of us are trained in Safeguarding
⭐️ Many have been trained in Mental Health First Aid
⭐️ Many of us have completed CPR & De-fib training
⭐️ We have an extensive list of resources available in West Lothian
⭐️ We can provide training and education on lots of mental and physical health topics.
🌸 June, our Founder is a Qualified Mental Health Nurse with over 37 years experience helping people with anxiety, low mood & stress.
She has completed the following training:
⭐️ Mental Health First Aid Trainer & Assessor
⭐️ Teaching in Further Education Qualification
⭐️ CBT for Menopause with British Menopause Society
⭐️ The Decider Skills - CBT Brief Interventions approved by the British Psychology Sociiety
⭐️ Trauma Informed Practice
⭐️ Breathwork Coach
⭐️ She also has experience supporting individuals during ADHD and autism assessment, diagnostic processes and providing CBT informed support.
Together, this wonderful team offers empathy, lived understanding, and professional insight — creating a safe, supportive space where women feel heard, believed, and valued.
