Perfection is just procrastination in disguise.
Progress comes from taking action, even when it’s not perfect.

One delays change.
The other creates it.

Stop trying to be “perfect” all the time with your health & fitness goals, if you have this mindset you’ll NEVER achieve your goals..

Do your best to tick off the non-negotiable’s daily / weekly

✅ Water intake
✅ Step count
✅ Sleep
✅ Aim to eat whole foods as much as you can
✅ Stress management

If some days / weeks you’re busier than normal and can’t get to the gym 3/4x a week, go 2x, if you can stick your nutrition plan 7 days a week because of social plans / not planned your meals, choose better options on the go.

The smaller decisions you make compound.. don’t just throw the towel in 🫡

Elite athletes have coaches.
High performers have accountability.

But the average bloke?

Thinks he should just “figure it out” with a few YouTube videos and a half-arsed gym routine.

You’ll happily invest in:

• Business mentors
• Financial advisors
• A new car
• Another watch
• Another weekend away

But when it comes to your health?

“It’s too expensive.”
“I’ll start next month.”
“I just need more motivation.”

Listen…

If your body is the vehicle that carries your career, your energy, your confidence, and your future…

Why are you treating it like an afterthought?

The most successful men prioritise performance.

Not because they’re vain.
Because they understand this:

More energy = better decisions
More strength = more presence
Lower body fat = higher confidence
Structure = less stress

You don’t rise to your goals.
You fall to your standards.

This one exercise switch helped me grow my chest FASTER.

Most lads do chest flys wrong.�They grab heavy dumbbells, turn it into a half press… and wonder why their shoulders feel wrecked but their chest barely grows.

One simple upgrade: cuff cable flys.

Here’s why they’re elite 👇

1. Constant tension on the chest�Dumbbells lose tension at the top.�Cables keep the pecs loaded the entire rep.

2. No grip or forearm limitation�With cuffs, you’re not squeezing handles.�Your chest does the work, not your grip.

3. Better tension in your chest�Pecs are strongest when the arms come across the body.�Cables load this position perfectly.

4. Less shoulder stress�Dumbbell flys stretch the shoulder joint hard at the bottom.�Cuff cables let you control the range and stay in a safer position.

5. Better mind-muscle connection�No handles. No momentum.�Just pure chest contraction.

You’re not stuck.
You’re just comfortable being disappointed in yourself.

Read that again.

You’re not confused.
You’re not “unlucky with fat loss”.
You’re not too busy.

You’ve just built a lifestyle where underachieving feels normal. 👎🏽

Skipping sessions.
Saying “I’ll start Monday”.
Promising you’ll lock in after the holiday.
Looking in the mirror and thinking “this’ll do”.

It won’t.

And deep down you know it.

Because every time you catch your reflection, every time you’re out of breath playing with your kids, every time you feel the need to avoid getting your photo taken… it stings.

3 TIPS TO AVOID DISTRACTIONS WHILST YOU’RE TRAINING

Most men don’t have a motivation problem.
They’ve got a focus problem.

You’re in the gym 75 minutes…
But only actually training for about 35.

The rest?
• WhatsApp
• Instagram
• Fantasy football
• Standing around pretending to “rest”

Let’s fix it.

1️⃣ TRAIN WITH A PLAN, NOT VIBES

If you walk in and “see what you fancy”, you’ve already lost.

Know your lifts.
Know your sets.
Know your reps.
Know your rest times.

Structure kills distraction.

You don’t scroll when you’re on a mission.

2️⃣ PUT YOUR PHONE ON AIRPLANE MODE

You’re not that important.

No one needs you urgently for 60 minutes.

Music on.
Notifications off.
Head down.

Most of you aren’t distracted… you’re addicted.

3️⃣ TIME YOUR REST PERIODS

If your rest is meant to be 90 seconds… it’s not 4 minutes 37.

Set a timer.
When it goes off, you lift.

Intensity comes from focus.
Focus comes from standards.

You want to look like the bloke who trains properly?

Then train properly.

The gym isn’t a social club.
It’s where you build the man you say you want to become.

Never miss a Monday.
Chest day religiously.
White Monster on tap.
Telling everyone on insta after every session you’ve been to the gym.

Yet people still ask…

“Do you even lift?”

That one stings doesn’t it.

Because deep down, you know why.

You’re not progressing.
You’re not tracking.
You’re not eating in line with your goal.
You train hard (or you think you do)… but it’s all random.
You’re busy… but not structured.

So you’ve been “consistent” for the last 3-5 years…

With the same body. (Might of even went backwards and gained more fat not muscle.)

Your effort isn’t the issue.
Your direction is.

And the worst part?
You’re wasting time you don’t get back.

Most busy blokes in their 30s don’t need to train more.
They need a proper plan.
Progression.
Standards.
Accountability.

You need higher standards.

Most men don’t struggle because they don’t know what to do.
They struggle because they keep letting themselves off the hook.

You tell yourself:
“I’ll start Monday.”
“I’ll train this week.”
“I’ll eat better.”

Then Wednesday hits.
You’re tired.
Work’s been stressful.
Weather’s sh*t.

So you sack it off.

And every time you do, you reinforce one identity:
The bloke who doesn’t follow through.

That’s the real damage.

Not the missed session.
Not the takeaway.
Not the pints.

It’s the quiet loss of self-respect.

You stop trusting yourself.
You stop believing your own promises.
You expect to fail before you even start.

Trust me, I’ve been in this position myself.

Here’s the bit most men don’t want to hear:

Discipline isn’t being extreme.
It’s being reliable.

Reliable to train when you said you would.
Reliable to eat properly when no one’s watching.
Reliable to do the boring stuff, week after week.

Confidence doesn’t come from abs.
It comes from keeping your word.

You don’t need a new plan.
You need accountability and standards that don’t change based on mood, stress, or social plans.

Start small.
But be ruthless with consistency.

Because the man you want to be isn’t built on big promises.
He’s built on the promises you actually keep.

And until you fix that,
nothing else changes.
