It’s that time of year again! It always seems to come around so quickly?! I will be out of the office now for a few weeks and returning on Monday 5th January 2026. I will respond to messages and enquiries when I return.

I will have capacity to take on a few new athletes in January so if you have been thinking about reaching out, perhaps 2026 is the time?!

*RARE AVAILABILITY - MONDAY EVENING ONLINE SESSIONS*

I will have capacity to take on an additional athlete on MONDAY EVENINGS STARTING JANUARY. Online sessions. 6/6.30pm start. Timing would suit a youth athlete but could also be adult. MUST BE AGED 14 OR OLDER. Typically sessions are every other week. I often help with nerves around competition and confidence issues but can support a wide range of challenges. I have over 5 years experience working in numerous sports including running, cricket, swimming, pole vault, to name a few!

Gosh! Feeling a bit achey today after a great day of walking football yesterday with my Battle Axes ‘orange’ teammates. We were really happy with our performance and came third (just 1 point behind the teams in 1st and 2nd!) in a very tightly contested league. Our Battle Axes ‘blue’ team also did brilliantly, coming 2nd in their league! Overall a brilliant day (and worth the aching today!!).

You want to EXERCISE but….

🤦🏻‍♀️ You have repeatedly tried and failed to stick to exercise plans?
🤯 You start with great enthusiasm, but soon it all feels too much?
⏰ You struggle to find time to exercise amongst everything else, even though you are conscious it will improve your health?

With so much information telling us that we need to exercise and what the benefits are, we can often feel quite overwhelmed. When we start, we perhaps have unrealistic expectations of ourselves that can quickly lead to undermined confidence. Past ‘failures’ may also contribute to this and we can have a lot in our mind that is working against us.

By taking the time to think about our MINDSET at the OUTSET, we can give ourselves the best chance of success.

If I step back and reflect on the many conversations I have had with athletes across different sports, the most common thing we have achieved, by a variety of means, is an acceptance that in any journey, things will not always go as you might hope. There will be disappointments and even moments you feel you have gone backwards, but that is in fact all part of moving forwards. If you can embrace that, really believe it and learn from all of your experiences, it can remove fears and enable even greater growth.

Women in your 40s/50s! Do you need some support to make exercise a part of your regular routine?

❓Know you ‘should’ be doing it and that it will be good for you, but that doesn’t help!
🤯 Already feel overwhelmed with ‘No time’ and too many other commitments?

Perimenopause can leave us feeling fatigued, overwhelmed, struggling with sleep, low in confidence, the list goes on!!!

People often think my work as a Sport & Exercise Psychologist is only about ‘high performance’ or ‘elite’ sport, but actually this isn’t the case 😮

Something I am really passionate about is helping women to start (and continue!) participating in sport and exercise at 40+.

Our bodies experience a lot of changes at this time, and we often need to take a fresh approach to our training. What has worked previously, or what we have prevously thought about exercise, may need adjustment. There can also be lots of emotions to deal with 🤯💕
