Globally, 7 in 10 adults (412 million people) living with diabetes are of working age. This years theme is ‘know more and do more for diabetes at work’. At InHealth we are committed to fostering a supportive work environment for all our staff and those that may live with diabetes. This includes offering flexible working arrangements and reasonable adjustments – as well as a highly skilled and approachable leadership community who are available to offer help and guidance to make working with a condition such as diabetes, easier.

This , we're joining the call for better diabetes awareness, reinforced through our partnership with the NHS to support the roll out of the National Diabetic Eye Screening Programme (DESP), now delivered across 19 locations across the UK, and supporting 2 million patients with diabetes. Attending your scheduled appointment is vital if you want to manage the condition. The routine check-up can help you spot and treat diabetic retinopathy early, which should prevent it from progressing to a stage where it’s more difficult to treat.

Get in touch with your local Patient Engagement Centre team or use our Patient Portal today to arrange an appointment that works for you. To find your local contact or Patient Portal details, take a look at our website here: https://www.inhealthgroup.com/diabetic-eye-screening/contact-and-locations/

If you want to better understand more of the signs of diabetes and assess your own risk, try out this online tool from World Diabetes Day: https://worlddiabetesday.org/type-2-diabetes-risk-assessment/

Look out for more from us and our teams, as we step out into the communities that we serve and encourage them to put their health first.

In support of Movember, we're celebrating and promoting men's physical and mental health. Movember is a fantastic initiative focused on men's health issues, including mental health, su***de prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer.

As part of our extensive diagnostics and healthcare services, we offer comprehensive Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) screening services for men, as well as Lung Cancer Screening (LCS) which helps detect lung cancer. This critical screening plays a key role in early detection, helping to identify potential health concerns before they become serious, with heart failure and lung cancer within the top 5 biggest killers for men. Watch this video to see the impact of LCS! https://youtu.be/FmfPUW3JvKQ

Not only are we proud to provide AAA and LCS diagnostic services, but we are also proud to stand alongside Prostate Cancer Research as a Proactive Champion, and support their call for a national prostate cancer screening programme. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK, yet there’s no national screening programme. Many lives could be saved through early detection and a nationwide prostate cancer screening programme.

Our commitment to health and wellbeing extends to our dedicated staff too. We proudly offer an extensive wellness package that includes private medical insurance, a supportive employee assistance programme, mental health first aiders, and additional benefits tailored to diverse colleague needs.

Recognising the importance of accessible health resources, we’re holding a men's mental health wellbeing session later this month for all colleagues, encouraging them to stay informed with their own health, as well as advocating for others!

To boost awareness and celebrate the cause, we've given our logo a bold new look…a moustache! This makeover is more than just a style statement; it's a symbol of our commitment to men's health and a reminder to everyone to join in.

Stay tuned as our teams take part in Movember events throughout the month!

Celebrating World Radiography Day!

Today we’re honouring the incredible work of radiography professionals across the globe and especially those within our organisation.

World Radiography Day marks the anniversary of Wilhelm Roentgen’s discovery of x-radiation in 1895, a breakthrough that transformed modern medicine. From earlier detection to fewer surgeries and more effective treatments, diagnostic imaging has revolutionised patient care.

At InHealth, we’re proud to employ radiographers across a wide range of specialties including X-ray, MRI, CT, ultrasound, and mammography. These healthcare heroes play an important role in helping clinicians make informed decisions, ensuring patients receive the right care at the right time.

Radiography isn’t just a career, it’s a calling! Radiographers put patient care first and make a real difference in people’s lives every single day.

A huge thank you to all our radiographers, whose expertise and dedication are at the heart of better healthcare outcomes.

Last month, our incredible Lung Cancer Screening (LCS) nursing teams launched a creative campaign to support Stoptober, encouraging smoking cessation and healthier lifestyle choices across the service.

The initiative invited patients to make a personal pledge - whether to quit smoking altogether, cut down, support a loved one, or simply give it their best shot and pin it to pledge boards. This simple act of public commitment has been shown to significantly increase the likelihood of someone taking action!

Our nurses offered small treats like cakes and cookies, along with selected InHealth merchandise to boost patient interest. The response was fantastic, with inspiring pledges and stories shared by patients from all walks of life.

A huge thank you to our LCS teams for their creativity and compassion to help improve public health.

We’ve been painting InHealth pink!

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month we’re incredibly proud to play a vital role in supporting the NHS Breast Screening Programme, helping to save lives through early detection and regular screening.

In honour of 'Wear It Pink Day', our teams have gone above and beyond to raise awareness of breast cancer! We’ve even seen pets and children joining in the pink positivity.

Not only did our colleagues look absolutely fantastic, but they also made an impact:
🩷 Sharing breast health information and leaflets with patients
🩷 Running bake sales in aid of Breast Cancer Now
🩷 Raising over £400 at just one site alone!

We’re so proud of everyone across InHealth for coming together to support such an important cause and helping to make a difference this Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Your vision matters.
If you have diabetes, you will be regularly invited for diabetic eye screening.

Screening is important because when eye problems are caught early, they can be treated more effectively, before you notice changes to your sight.

Find out more at nhs.uk/des or on our website here https://www.inhealthgroup.com/diabetic-eye-screening/

InHealth has proudly partnered with the NHS for nearly 15 years to deliver diabetic eye screening across 19 of England’s 57 programmes - supporting over 1.8 million people in protecting their sight.

This October, we are supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

The month is a powerful reminder of the importance of early detection and open conversations around breast health. We’re proud to support this not just in October, but all year round, through our delivery of the NHS Breast Screening Programme.

Our breast screening teams regularly connect with the local area and recently our Jarvis Breast Screening team stepped out into the community, joining an engagement event at the Guildford Spectrum!

The team loved meeting attendees, sharing insights about breast screening and breast health, and breaking down barriers to what can sometimes feel like a daunting topic.

Led by Breast Care Nurse Sapna Thapa and Mammography Associate Practitioner Apprentice Deepthi Denny, the team were on hand to empower individuals with practical information, encourage screening and early detection, and have open, supportive conversations about self-care and wellbeing.

The event was a resounding success! What a wonderful reminder that sometimes, a friendly chat can make all the difference.

Today is World Menopause Day! Each year, this day provides a time to raise awareness, increase understanding and show support for those experiencing menopause and perimenopause.

We're absolutely delighted to spotlight one of our Menopause Champions, Rosy Ormisher today - Rosy has shared what it means to her to be a champion and advocate for greater awareness of menopause. Rosy plays a key role in helping colleagues understand the physical, emotional and mental impacts of menopause, offering practical advice and encouraging open conversations that break down the stigma.

In our commitment to creating an inclusive and informed organisation, we have been busy having open conversations and raising the profile of menopause in the workplace.

Here are just some of the ways we’re doing this at InHealth:
💜 Menopause awareness sessions – Led by our Menopause Champions Rosy Ormisher and Katie Downes, the team offer practical insights, tips and safe spaces
🩷 Team awareness sessions – These sessions are available for more 1:1 team meetings to help build understanding and encourage supportive conversations on a team-by-team basis
💜Educational resources & videos – Including a new video from our Chief Medical Officer and Wellbeing Guardian, Dr Reem Hasan, sharing valuable health information and advice about menopause
🩷Women’s Health Hub – We have built a dedicated space for information, resources and guidance on menopause and wider women’s health topics
💜Menopause Policy – This policy is regularly reviewed and helps reinforce our ongoing commitment to supporting colleagues with access to advice, reasonable adjustments and wellbeing initiatives
🩷Champion Network & EAP support – Providing confidential help through our Menopause Champions, Mental Health First Aiders and our free 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme

World Menopause Day is more than an awareness date. It’s a reminder that every experience is unique and every conversation helps reduce stigma and strengthen support for others.

If you or someone you know needs support, find your nearest NHS or private menopause specialist on the British Menopause Society website here: https://buff.ly/wPSY4c2

We were incredibly proud to join yesterday’s parliamentary launch of a pivotal new report showing that targeted prostate cancer screening would cost just 0.01% of the annual NHS budget, while saving lives and reducing health inequalities.

At InHealth, we’re committed to turning evidence into action, and as the UK's largest specialist diagnostics provider, working in partnership with the NHS to deliver AAA, Breast, Lung and Diabetic Eye Screening programmes across the country, we were delighted to attend the event and join the call for a national prostate cancer screening programme.

Our Chief Medical Officer Dr Reem Hasan and Ben Peregrine, Business Development Director, met at the event with Graham Fulford from The Graham Fulford Charitable Trust, where they also heard from Rishi Sunak MP and Prostate Cancer Research Ambassador and other key speakers on this important topic.

We encourage policymakers, clinicians and communities to work together so that high risk men don’t wait until it’s too late. Read more here: https://buff.ly/j5rihJr
