✨ We are very pleased to introduce our new Practice Nurse, Katie Hunt at Barton House Medical Practice ✨

Katie qualified as a registered nurse in 2020, working initially in a community hospital before moving into community nursing.

In 2025, she completed her District Nurse Specialist Practitioner course, strengthening her skills in holistic, patient-centered care. Katie is keen to move into practice nursing to focus on prevention, health promotion, and proactive management of long-term conditions, whilst continuing to develop her skills.

Katie’s working days are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday.

💗 Cervical Screening – Book Your Appointment 💗

If you’ve received a letter inviting you for cervical screening (smear test), please contact the surgery to book your appointment or book via the link if you have received a link from the practice.

Cervical screening helps prevent cervical cancer by detecting changes early, even if you feel well and have no symptoms. The test is quick, routine, and carried out by our trained clinical team.

📢 Important Health Notice for Parents/Guardians/Carers

Nestlé has issued a recall of certain baby formula products, including SMA, BEBA and NAN infant and follow-on formulas, because some batches may contain a toxin (cereulide) that can cause food poisoning symptoms such as nausea and vomiting.

If you have bought any of the affected products:
• Do not feed them to infants or young children.
• Check the batch number on the pack and compare it with the recall list on Nestlé’s or the Food Standards Agency’s website - https://www.nestle.co.uk/en-gb/media/sma-infant-formula-follow-on-formula-recall

📞 If you’re concerned about your child’s health after using these products, please get in contact with us or NHS 111 (out of hours) for advice.

The safety and wellbeing of babies is our absolute priority. As a precautionary measure, Nestlé is voluntarily recalling specific batches of its SMA infant formula and follow-on formula.

Dear Patients

We are pleased to announce changes as to how appointments will now be made at the practice from Monday 29th September 2025

As part of our ongoing efforts to manage increasing demand and ensure equitable access to care, we will now be moving to a Total Triage model for all GP appointment requests. All other appointments for our Practice Nurse, Pharmacist, HCA, GPA and Physio are made the same way as you have always done.

As you’re all aware, appointment availability remains a challenge, and we want to ensure we’re using our resources as fairly and efficiently as possible Total Triage helps us do this by giving oversight of all patient needs before slots are filled

From Monday all patients wishing to book an appointment will need to submit an online consultation request – either via our practice website at https://bartonhousemedicalpractice.webgp.com/ or with the support of our reception team.

We’ll be continuing to offer support to patients who aren’t comfortable with digital forms, so 𝗻𝗼 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲. You can still speak to our reception teams who will complete the form for you or with you.
