World Breastfeeding Awareness Week, 1st-7th August

“Invest in Breastfeeding, Invest in the Future” this World Breastfeeding Awareness Week. Showing support and encouraging breastfeeding creates healthy babies and empowered mothers. We’re breastfeeding friendly at Glebe House Surgery

Breastfeeding may not always be easy at first, but after some practice, you’ll find it an easy and rewarding way to feed. It has lots of benefits for your baby and you:
• Your breast milk meets all of your baby’s nutritional needs
• Breast milk protects your baby from infections and diseases
• Breastfeeding provides health benefits for you
• Breast milk is available for your baby whenever your baby needs it
If you need help with breastfeeding, speak to your Health Visitor, find local services in your red book or contact here:

We have assessed our patient’s Friends and Family responses for July 2025 and we are very pleased to share the results with our patients as below.

Although we are unable to directly respond to patients due to the returns being anonymous, we share feedback with the staff and discuss issues raised to improve our service. We do ask patients to complete a Friends and Family response after each appointment to ensure we are always providing the best care and service we can.

Very Good – 245 (84.5%)
Good – 25 (8.6%)
Neither good nor poor – 8 (2.8%)
Poor – 3 (1%)
Very Poor – 9 (3.1%)

Thank you for your continued feedback

Psoriasis Action Month, 1st-31st August

Psoriasis affects people of all genders, races and ages, and can appear on various parts of the body at any time. No one really knows what causes it and that’s why it’s so important to understand how to manage it effectively when symptoms arise.

Every individual is unique and finding the right approach can take time. If you’re struggling, book an appointment with your GP or find more information here:

The National Psoriasis Foundation is here to help you get the treatment you need while promoting research to find a cure for psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.

Measles

Measles cases are on the rise in the UK. Vaccination is vital to protect both your own children and those around you who are vulnerable. If you’ve missed a dose, or you haven’t started yet, it’s never too late to catch up. Book an appointment by ringing 01677 422616.

Vaccines are the most effective way to prevent many infectious diseases, and while anti-vaccine stories are often spread on social media, these may not be based on scientific evidence and could put your child at risk of a serious illness.

Facts:
Vaccines do not cause autism – studies have found no evidence of a link between the MMR vaccine and autism
• They do not overload or weaken the immune system
• Vaccines undergo rigorous safety testing before being introduced – they’re also constantly monitored for side effects

If people are not vaccinated, serious illnesses can spread. Measles can lead to life-threatening complications like meningitis, and may even be fatal. Book your child’s vaccine today.

The surgery is hosting a drop-in session to help patients with the NHS App. If you are wishing to get more information about what the NHS App can do, or help navigating the App please come down to the surgery on Wednesday 07/05/25 between 10–12:30. There will also be sessions on 04/06 and 02/07.

We can also help you set-up your account with the NHS App, however, in order to do this we would need each patient to attend with a form of ID such as Passport or Driver’s licence.

The staff & Partners at Glebe house Surgery are proud to announce that we have received the Green Impact for health Bronze award.
