Another fleet done today at Manor always a good day when working for these, once again keeping us inside and warmed up with a cuppa whilst we work. It was good to see our friend Chris Riley, the owner of manor farm and storage ltd, unfortunately in self isolation at the moment to try and keep safe from the virus.

After careful thought and consideration about safety on the coronavirus we have decided to wear protective gloves on ANY job we do as well as sterilising our hands before and after every job to ensure we are not catching or spreading the virus in any way. We will also be giving any steering wheels or surfaces that we may come into contact with a wipe down with sterilising wipes. As a callout company we are often around others and in different environments so it is important to us to keep clean.

Are you a HGV owner travelling into Greater London?

Has your vehicle got a zero star rating according to the TFL website?

Do you know about the new law being implemented in 2020 that restricts vehicles above 12 tonnes from going into Greater London?

If the answer is yes to any of these questions then follow this link to find out if your vehicle is eligible to apply for the permit required. https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/dvs-safety-permit-application/

If your vehicle is rated at zero stars then you will need certain safety equipment to be allowed into Greater London without a £550 fine;

1. Class V & VI mirrors.
2. Side under-run protection on both sides of the vehicle.
3. External pictorial stickers
and markings.
4. A sensor system that alerts
the driver to the presence of other road users.
5. Audible alarms to alert road users when the vehicle is turning left.
6. A fully operational camera
monitoring system on the nearside.

We install 3,4,5 & 6 from the list above which will allow you to enter Greater London until October 2024 when the requirements will change. Unfortunately the 2024 requirements have not been released but all we know is that 3-star or above rated vehicles will be permitted.

At Manor farm and Storage LTD today we did two installations on new Mercedes vehicles, was only a small job of two side cameras a forward camera and a suzi connection at the back, aswell as a monitor in the cab.

We were greeted with tea and biscuits and a nice warm heater to keep us from the cold. A great customer and never fails to make us feel at home. ☕️🍪🚍
