MoveFit Pilates Bedford's leading Pilates studio dedicated to Pilates Reformer and mat-based Pilates movement. Class Pregnancy and post-natal sessions also available on request.

Pilates classes and 1-2-1 training with an experienced Body Control Pilates teacher. Class sizes are kept small to ensure clients get close supervision and the attention they need. Classes range from beginners and gentle Pilates, up to more advanced Pilates. Classes take place at our studio, and online via Zoom if clients require. Full schedule of Pilates Reformer classes and personal training available. Private sessions can be booked for Pilates Reformer or mat-based Pilates- contact the studio for details and free consultation.

We love to stack things on when we want to feel good — new supplements, fancy blends, the latest wellness “boost.”

But sometimes the real power is in taking things out.

The glass of wine that became a habit, the biscuits that sneak in when you’re peckish… you don’t need to cut them forever. Just reduce them, gently, and see what shifts. 🍪🍷

Before adding more to your routine (and your shopping list), try subtraction.

It’s cheaper, simpler, and often exactly what your body’s been asking for.

Mother's Day in the UK...today.

Growing up in Canada, I still find it strange celebrating in March instead of May.

Putting the timing aside, it's always been a complicated day for me.

I lost my mum 18 years ago - she was only 55. Now that I have children of my own, the day carries a dual meaning: a moment to remember and honour my incredible mother, who gave me, even in her final breath, the inspiration to live differently and the reminder that life is short and time really does fly...and a moment to celebrate with my own little ones, filled with laughter, cuddles, joy, and of course, some bickering!

We carry so much within us - feelings that sometimes align and sometimes sit in tension with each other on days like this.

For me Mother's Day has become a day of gratitude for all mothers and mother figures, those here and those we've had to learn to live without.

I hope you spend it in a way that brings you peace and joy.

Most of us spend far more time sitting than our bodies were designed for, and your spine feels the impact long before you notice the stiffness.

Long periods in the same position can increase pressure on the discs, weaken the muscles that support your posture, and leave your joints feeling tight and restricted. Understanding what’s happening inside your body is the first step toward making small changes that protect your long‑term mobility.

These effects build gradually, which is why awareness is so important.

We're so good at adding things to our diets - more protein, more greens, more supplements.

The stressor we don’t measure… 📱

Not work.
Not food.
Not exercise.

Our phones.

The constant checking.
The tiny hits of distraction.

The way we’re never fully “off” — even when we’re resting, exercising, or sitting with people we care about.

Every glance keeps the brain slightly alert.

Every notification pulls at our attention.
And over time, that background stimulation adds up.

This isn’t a judgement post. 🙋🏻‍♀️ Hand up — I’m working on this too.

But if we’re serious about better focus, better sleep, better recovery and feeling calmer in our bodies… we can’t ignore the role of being constantly “on”.

Maybe the shift isn’t doing more.

Maybe it’s checking less.

Have you noticed how often you reach for your phone without even thinking?
