Causing a ruckus, but I’m sorry I do not think 2 days is enough to learn how to teach group classes in almost anything. Let alone a piece of equipment people can fall off.

I don’t care if someone doesn’t stick to full classical, I certainly don’t. But I have very limited trust in someone coming to Pilates with no health or fitness background and does a 2 day training.

Exercise with health issues can be confusing. People often fall into the well I can’t do that so I’ll do nothing trap- we’ve all been there!

But often something is better than nothing. It’s my job to help you find the something)

half was my first ever! I’d only been running for just shy of two years.

Thankfully I’ve been a Physiotherapist for a lot longer and had some decent knowledge.

Strength training is key when it comes to reducing injury risk in running (or anything) NOT STRETCHING.

As a Pilates teacher it over a decade I had decent calf strength with the thousands of heel raises, foot series and footwork I’ve done over the years 😂. So adding some simply heavy seated and standing heel raises was just the ticket! Along with standard squats, deadlifts etc!

Teaching Pilates was sort of accidental tbh!

I’d worked in rugby (men’s) for 4 years solid and women as patients scared me a little- especially pre/post natal.

So I thought I’d do the Pilates to start to learn a little more with the intention of doing pre/post natal.

And let me tell you it was love at first practice. Finding an exercise that I enjoyed and also helped make my brain a little quieter. Helped with my hypermobility (I’ve only dislocated one thing since 2014!) and my psoriatic arthritis.

And I get to teach it every day!
