❌ Beware of scammers!! ❌
Scammers are constantly finding new ways to trick people and online scams are changing all the time.

They are sending out fake emails and texts pretending to be from your bank, a delivery service, or even the government.

Protect yourself with these simple tips:
1. Don’t click links in emails or texts you weren’t expecting.
2. Check the sender's address carefully — look for strange spellings or domain names.
3. Call the real company directly if you’re unsure.
4. Install antivirus software and keep it up to date.
5. Trust your instincts – if something feels too good to be true, it probably is."

Contact the police if you’re worried something might be a scam, or you think you might have been scammed.

🩷 Age NI is working in partnership with Power NI to raise awareness of scams and help older people stay safe and informed 🩷

PTSD (Post-traumatic stress disorder) is a mental health condition caused by very stressful, frightening or distressing events.

Someone with PTSD often relives the traumatic event through nightmares and flashbacks, and may experience feelings of isolation, irritability and guilt.

They may also have problems sleeping, such as insomnia, and find concentrating difficult.

These symptoms are often severe and persistent enough to have a significant impact on the person's day-to-day life.

PTSD isn’t just about flashbacks or nightmares, it’s the random triggers, the hyper-awareness, the exhaustion from constantly being on edge. It’s wanting to enjoy life but feeling trapped between who you are and what you’ve been through.

Some days, you function like nothing happened. Other days, the weight of it sits on your chest, making even the simplest tasks feel impossible. Healing isn’t linear, and “just get over it” isn’t an option.

If you’re living with PTSD, know this:
You’re not broken. You’re surviving - And that is strength. Keep going. You’re not alone.
There is help available - make an appt with your GP for further help and support.

❤️ Kindness is something we can give freely, even when we disagree. It’s not about proving who’s right or wrong, but about choosing peace over pride, and understanding over judgment.

❤️ Kindness doesn’t need conditions.
We live in a world where people have different opinions, beliefs, and ways of seeing things, and that’s okay - We don’t have to share the same views to treat each other with respect and compassion.

❤️ Sometimes, a simple act of kindness can soften hearts and open doors where arguments never could.

❤️ At the end of the day, it’s not our opinions that define us, but the way we make others feel.
So even when we see the world differently, let’s still choose to be kind.

Coeliac disease is a condition where your immune system attacks your own tissues when you eat gluten. This damages your gut (small intestine) so your body cannot properly take in nutrients or minerals such as iron.

🧡 A quarter of adults are estimated to be anaemic due to iron deficiency when diagnosed with coeliac disease.

Iron deficiency can feel like:
• Fatigue
• Shortness of breath
• Pale skin
• Reduced concentration
• Headaches

🧡 Iron deficiency is common in people with undiagnosed coeliac disease because the body can’t absorb iron properly — a result of damage to the gut lining caused by gluten.

If this sounds familiar, speak to your GP and discuss whether testing for coeliac disease could be right for you.
