Hello just a quick update from me! My new block of classes begin next week, and spaces are filling fast.

⭐️So why yoga?
⭐️What are the benefits of a regular yoga practice?

Yoga can help you move with more ease, build strength and flexibility, improve sleep, reduce stress, calm the nervous system and create a bit of calm in your week — both on and off the mat.

🕯️Tending the Inner Light – yoga for the space between seasons

Early January isn’t a time to rush forward or force resolutions. It’s a quieter in-between space — a time for listening, receiving, and allowing clarity to emerge naturally.

In this block of classes, we stay inward a little longer. Through gentle movement, simple breathing techniques, meditation, and reflective affirmations, the practice supports slow emerging rather than pushing. This is about creating space so ideas for the year ahead can surface in their own time!

🏥Where does Breast Assessment take place?

Most people will still be seen in their nearest hospital, but if there is a shorter waiting
time, you could be offered an appointment in any of the hospitals listed below.
• Altnagelvin Area Hospital (Western Trust)
• Antrim Area Hospital (Northern Trust)
• Belfast City Hospital (Belfast Trust)
• Craigavon Area Hospital (Southern Trust)
• Ulster Hospital Dundonald (South Eastern Trust)

You can choose whether you want to travel to an appointment or wait for an appointment in your nearest hospital.

The Regional booking office will ring you to offer appointment options.

✨ Turning Inwards – Yoga for the Wintering Soul ✨

As the nights draw in, give yourself permission to slow down and rest.

This 6-week block is a gentle journey inward. We’ll explore yin yoga, restorative yoga and end with a nourishing yoga Nidra practice all designed to soothe the body and calm the mind.

Each week combines postures with breathwork, hand mudras, and positive affirmations — building a sense of balance that you can carry into everyday life.

No experience needed, just a willingness to slow down.

It’s menopause awareness month so I’ve been reflecting on the menopause journey that connects so many of us.

For many, menopause is a natural phase that arrives in its own time.
But for others, it comes unexpectedly — through premature ovarian insufficiency, surgical menopause, or menopause brought on by cancer or its treatments.

These experiences can be intense and isolating, often layered with the physical and emotional impact of illness.

The theme for this Menopause Awareness month is Lifestyle Medicine. As someone who has navigated menopause myself — and who now supports others through yoga, movement, breathwork, and integrative holistic therapies — I’ve witnessed the profound impact of lifestyle medicine:
🌸 Gentle movement to rebuild strength and ease tension
🌸 Mindful breathing to calm the nervous system
🌸 Nourishing food and rest to restore balance
🌸 Connection, education, and compassion to remind us we’re not alone

✨ A little life update ✨

I’ve been a bit quiet on here lately. In September, my dad passed away at the age of 93. Over the past few years, we had been caring for him following his dementia diagnosis, and he spent his final weeks in hospital after a fall.

He lived a long, full life and leaves behind an incredible legacy — including being the reason I first fell in love with yoga. When I was a child, my dad was advised to try yoga to support his health. He bought a copy of Yoga and Health by Selvarajan Yesudian and Elisabeth Haich.

Back then, it wasn’t exactly common for someone from Belfast — especially a working-class man — to be doing daily headstands. But my dad was prepared to try new things to help him deal with his health issues and he never cared much for what other people thought anyway!

That early exposure planted a seed in me — one that’s grown into a lifelong passion for yoga and wellbeing. I still have his original copy of the book, and it feels incredibly special to hold that connection to where it all began. 💫

Thank you for your kindness and patience while I’ve taken some quiet time. 🕊️🤍
