Over the next few days we will do a background on the team, first up on our โ€œMeet the Teamโ€:

Christopher Mallon

Christopher came into funeral directing at a young age of 14, growing up in the family business and learning the trade from the ground up. Itโ€™s something thatโ€™s always been in him โ€” a real respect for the role and a natural way with people when they need it most.

At the age of 16, he took over the family business, carrying on the family name with a clear focus: to move things forward while keeping the heart of the business exactly as it should be โ€” respectful, personal, and done properly.

If youโ€™ve ever dealt with Christopher, youโ€™ll know heโ€™s hands-on with everything. He arranges every funeral himself and answers every call โ€” no matter the time. Nothing gets passed on or overlooked, because he believes families deserve that direct care and attention.

And if youโ€™ve arranged a funeral with him, youโ€™ll also know about his eye for detailโ€ฆ or what we might jokingly call his โ€œwee bit of OCDโ€ โ€” every detail has to be just right, from the big things down to the smallest touches. Itโ€™s all part of making sure everything is exactly as it should be for each family.

Christopher oversees the day-to-day running of Mallon Brothers, from caring for families to managing staff and maintaining the highest standards across the board. He leads the team the same way he works himself โ€” with compassion, pride, and a real sense of responsibility.

Doherty Francis (Frank), passed away peacefully at hospital 29th March 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband to Mary. Loving father to Maria, Caroline, Frankie, David and Laura. Devoted grandfather, much-loved brother, father-in-law, uncle, and friend to many. R.I.P. Frank will arrive home to 5 Whiterock Crescent on Tuesday (evening). We recently received a truly heartfelt thank you message from a family we had the privilege to support. Their dad was a proud Ford worker and a real car enthusiastโ€”something we had in common, which made it all the more special to help honour his life in a way that reflected who he was.

Thereโ€™s something powerful about those personal touchesโ€”celebrating not just a life, but the passions and pride that defined it.

The family of the late Martin (Leo) O'Kane would like to express our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to everyone who supported us during our
recent loss.

We are deeply grateful to our family, friends, neighbours, and to all who called to our home from near and far, sent Mass cards, flowers,
messages, prepared food, and kept us in your thoughts and prayers. Your kindness and generosity have brought us great comfort at such a difficult
time.

A sincere and special word of thanks to the nurses, doctors, all the staff at Belfast City Hospital Cancer Centre. Beechhall community nursing team. NI Hopice. Their care, compassion and kindness shown to Leo throughout his illness is something we could never repay.

We would like to express our deepest and most heartfelt thanks to Mallon Brothers Funeral Directors. They truly went above and beyond in every aspect of the arrangements, taking care of everything on our behalf with such professionalism, dignity and compassion. They are a class above no other โ€” checking in with us daily, guiding us through each step, and offering continuous support throughout the wake and funeral. We will be forever thankful

Thank you to Fr Brian Watters for celebrating such a beautiful and meaningful Requiem Mass, and to Cara McCann for the beautiful singing which made the service so special and memorable.
