When You’re Too Embarrassed to Ask for Help - Some fears and habits don’t come from weakness — they begin as protection.
Maybe it started in childhood, or after something difficult happened.
Over time, the brain learned to stay alert — even when the danger passed.
In this video, I explore why the emotional brain can get stuck in survival mode and how, through calm focus and understanding, we can teach it safety again.
Many people live quietly with issues that feel too personal to talk about:
• adult bladder urgency or bedwetting
• panic around swallowing or eating
• fear of vomiting, fainting, or medical procedures
• compulsive checking or reassurance-seeking
• night waking or bedtime dread
• health anxiety or body-focused worry
• avoidance of travel, social settings, or specific places
• intrusive thoughts or habits that feel “strange” or isolating
These aren’t character flaws.
They’re protective responses that never switched off.
Through solution-focused hypnotherapy and neuroscience-informed approaches, the brain can learn to stand down again — gently, safely, and permanently.
