Don’t post too many updates on my own physique progress.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
The last 6 weeks (and following 4) sitting at 3200kcal a day which is roughly my maintenance.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
General aim has been simple , sticking to a 5 day split and ensuring 100% is given to each session. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Pretty much the same weight in each picture and both photos taken prior to training sessions. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Feeling fuller, stronger and actually leaner⁣.⁣
⁣⁣
Who says maintenance calories is pointless 😅⁣
⁣⁣
⁣Can’t emphasis enough the key component in any progression is consistency. Nail it and you’re on to a winner 👌 ⁣⁣

ᴘᴜᴛᴛɪɴɢ ɪᴛ ɪɴᴛᴏ ᴘᴇʀꜱᴘᴇᴄᴛɪᴠᴇ⁣

Just a little reminder that our attitudes towards life will determine life’s attitude towards us. ⁣

If we look for negativity in every situation and allow ourselves to fall at the first hurdle ,thinking the world is against us, then our ceiling for self development is drastically lower.⁣

we will continue with the “why always me” attitude and likely struggle to successfully apply ourselves to anything. ⁣

If you have had a bad week or weekend here’s your call to shake it off and plan for a progressive week. ⁣

New month and a clean slate 👌⁣

Nothing was built overnight , but wake up tomorrow thinking you’re capable of a little more and let’s see where you end up 🏆 ⁣

⁣Top tips for a successful leg day ⁣⁣🙌
⁣⁣
1. Stretch - from hip flexors to calves , tight or under active muscles can affect the flow of a movement pattern and hinder you hitting your potential. Spend 10-15 working through the motions and limbering up⁣⁣
⁣⁣
2. Structure - if you’re aiming to build , initiate workouts with your main lower body compounds. These staple movements not only require a lot of energy , but generate the highest levels of muscle fibre recruitment. You’re not going to push your full potential on a 6-8 rep range after 3/4 high volume leg exercises. Essentials for building in my opinion.⁣⁣

3. Variation - assuming you’re training legs more than once a week , place emphasis on a different major muscle per workout. ⁣⁣
For example , if leg day 1 is generally quad dominant, look to hit your lower posterior ( ham and glute) on your second day. These are big muscles with long recovery times. Day 1 may emphasise back squat , day 2 Romanian deadlift or hip thrust. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
4.Log - monitor your weights. The good old bate out term progressive overload. Your long term gains will be a direct result of constantly pushing your strength and rate of exertion.⁣⁣

5.Form - simple . Perform your movements correctly. Half range of movement Decreases muscle recruitment drastically. And bad form will also increase injury risk and it also looks sh*te 😇⁣⁣

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝗲 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 ?⁣

A topic I discussed regards weightlifting with a client this week and wanted to share a little on..⁣

Simple answer.⁣

Feeling like you’ve achieved something. 🙏⁣

- Changes in your body ⁣

-Pushing numbers on a weekly basis ⁣

-Giving yourself a pat on the back for nailing your calories ⁣

-Doing an extra workout than the week before ⁣

- feeling proud when your coach tells you that you’ve smashed your weekly goals⁣

- The satisfaction of hitting your daily step count ⁣

- Hitting your water intake ⁣

This just names a few...⁣

Sometimes we talk ourselves out of training because we can’t see the point or just can’t be bothered, and that’s ok.⁣

But maybe if you felt like you were achieving something every day and also making steps towards your goals you could change your mindset.⁣

I’ve learnt the hardest days over these last few months are the days when you have nothing to work towards or quite frankly do.⁣

I encourage anyone reading this to give this some thought and give themselves a focus.⁣

prepare yourself to become the best version of yourself when the gyms open this time around🙏 ⁣

Consider the feelings of achieving something and don’t hesitate or waste another year or two contemplating if it’s the right time yet. ⏰ ⁣

silly sense of achievement.⁣ 🏆

- keeping a team of individuals driven and happy⁣
- a clean car ⁣
- a perfectly presented meal⁣
- discovering how to create a spreadsheet ⁣
- a made bed with no creases ⁣
- hitting step counts ⁣
- increasing strength/ feeling fitter ⁣
- a perfect coffee ⁣
- a dog that looks like it’s smiling and convincing myself I made it smile⁣
- getting up early and feeling like I’ve loads of time ⁣
- reflecting on a successful week both physically and mentally ⁣
- academical personal growth ⁣
- a great sleep ⁣
- hitting my calories perfectly for the day ⁣

This is a shortened list of things that can bring me a feeling of achievement on a daily basis.⁣

Sometimes we just got to keep things simple and think small. ⁣

Aim to include a little happiness and sense of achievement into every day and I promise you’ll feel more motivated and positive.⁣

There is light at the end of this sh*tty tunnel and it’s getting closer.⁣

Let’s come out in top 🙏⁣

Truth is , a large percentage of us right now are slugging through this Boxing Day- New Years period feeling pretty sh*tty about what we’ve ate and hoping for a burst of motivation come 1st January.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Things aren’t ideal now right now but we have the choice to sink or swim with our surroundings and it falls down to our mindset.⁣
⁣⁣
Set aside some time to plan how you’re going tackle things before the new year is upon you.⁣ if you know you’re going to give up after a week or two, seek accountability.⁣
⁣⁣

Another one of my fantastic team smashing a photoshoot this month. I’ll let do the talking 🙌⁣

I have been going to the gym for over 3 years now and I felt like I had a good idea of which workouts to do that are most effective and the correct way to do them etc but I never had a clue about anything nutrition wise.⁣

As I’m going to get into the fitness industry myself, I needed to get some more knowledge about fitness/nutrition so I thought it would very beneficial for me to get a personal trainer and that’s when I contacted ⁣

Turns out there was ALOT about fitness and nutrition that I wasn’t educated on. I didn’t really know which workouts were most effective and what types of food I should be eating to get my body looking the way I wanted it to. Brads taught me a lot of exercises I didn’t know before and also how to nail the correct form on the ones I did know! He’s also the one that encouraged me to do this photoshoot and I couldn’t be more grateful. Couldn’t recommend the big man enough💪🏽😊⁣

I have never been so motivated to do something before in my life and now that I have a lot more knowledge about all aspects of fitness I really can not wait to see what the future holds! I’m extremely proud of myself for achieving this and cannot wait to see what 2021 has in store for me taking a big step and kickstarting my career in the fitness industry!😁🏋🏽‍♂️
