How did you first discover Pilates/reformer?
My first Pilates experience actually was at Moore Movement. I had a shoulder issue and couldn’t weight train but still wanted to move so I did one to ones with Liv!

What’s one fun fact about you most people don’t know?
I can speak Spanish (maybe not as good as a few years ago though) I did my degree in Spanish and Business and my Masters in Translation

What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone new to reformer Pilates?
Come as you are, go at your own pace, ask questions, don’t be afraid to say something doesn’t feel good for you and have fun!

Karen is a warm, encouraging, and down-to-earth instructor who brings both experience and humour to her classes. After more than five years as a dedicated reformer client, she completed her training with Moore Movement and now loves guiding others on their own journeys.

What do you hope clients take away from your classes?
I hope clients come to my classes and feel they can forget about everything else and just focus on moving, breathing and maybe having a wee laugh with me.

What’s one fun fact about you most people don’t know?
I tried so hard in my first ever beginner reformer class that I fainted at the end! So my catch phrases when teaching include “Take a break any time you like.”….“Can you hold this position? - the answer is allowed to be no!” and “The big loop is always there for you.”

What do you love most about teaching at Moore?
I adore teaching at Moore Movement because the space is so inviting and I love being able to support people of all ages starting or progressing their reformer journey.

Happy Birthday to us! 🎉

It's hard to believe that this month marks 4 years since we opened. We started as a brother and sister who simply wanted to work together and create a space authentic to ourselves and now feel incredibly grateful to look at the studio and community we've created. It is not lost on us how lucky we are to get to share this space with such wonderful people. So to celebrate all the lovely faces that come to the studio we're doing a competition!

Reformer Class levels 🤸‍♀️

At MM we have beginner, intermediate and advanced reformer Pilates class levels!
We want you to choose the level that keeps you safe on the machine, ensures progress in your practice and most importantly provides you with that movement joy 🤍

Unsure of what class level to choose?

➡️Always start with a beginner level if you’re new to the practice, so that you get familiar with the equipment and confident with the movements. This level is also perfect if you’ve got an injury or just prefer a slower more detailed class!

➡️ moving to intermediate- this level takes it up a notch with faster transitions, harder spring options and more standing work on top of the reformer. Great awareness of the machine, exercises and balance are required and the best way to know if you’re ready is to ask a teacher, they’ll be able to guide you 🤍

➡️ advanced level- if you’re thinking about attending this class level you should always have been given the go ahead from a teacher! This class has seamless trainsitions and exercises from the advanced repertoire that require you to have been practising at intermediate level for a sustained amount of time and is not suitable for those with injuries.

Choosing the class level that’s right for you will not only ensure your safety on the machine but also mean you progress faster and better as you’ll get the most out of the exercises. Your teachers will guide you best 🤍

As we head into the long weekend and switch off for a few days we just want to say Happy Easter and we hope you have a nice long weekend planned 🐣

We are closed Friday and Monday, with a reduced schedule the rest of the weekend! There are a few spots left if you want to get some movement in 🤸‍♀️
