O'Neills Funeral Directors O'Neill's Funeral Directors is a family run business helping families across Ireland. With two funeral homes: 98 Stewartstown Road & 228 Falls Road Belfast.

We are an independently family owned funeral directors established in 1991. Our main aim is to alleviate the worry from the family, of arranging the funeral, and in order to carry out this we are available 24 hours a day, no answer machines or recorded messages, the personal touch every time. Unfortunately, most of us will be confronted with the task of arranging the funeral of a loved one, which,

in the midst of grief, can be a daunting ordeal. O’Neill’s Funeral Directors have a purpose built a Chapel of Rest incorporating Viewing Rooms and totally refurbished their existing premises, on the Stewartstown Road. In addition to this in 2023 we have just opened new additional premises at 228 Falls Road, again with viewing rooms for the convenience of families. They have on display a selection of headstones at their premises to complete their one stop facility of providing everything needed to arrange a funeral. Diarmuíd (Dermy) Morrison passed away 19th March 2026.

The family of the late Diarmuíd Morrison wish to express our sincere gratitude and thanks to all those who sympathised and supported us at the time of Diarmuíd’s passing.

Heartfelt thank you to all our extended family and many friends who called to the house. For the floral tributes, the notices, Cards and words of condolences via phone calls, Social Media we are truly grateful.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Hugh Patrick Smyth of 44 Fort Road, Belfast and formerly Dundalk, Co. Louth.
Beloved Hugh, strong to the very end, passed away peacefully in the arms of his loving family on the 25th April 2026.

He will be deeply missed and forever cherished by his adoring Marion, the McDowell, McGrath, Mulligan, Gallen and Smyth families and his many, many friends.

Hugh’s remains will leave his late residence at 9.30am on Wednesday to arrive at St Joseph’s Church, Hannahstown for 10.30am Requiem Mass. Cremation to follow at a later date.

Odhran Green R.I.P.

Odhran passed suddenly at home on 24th April 2026. Dearly beloved son of the late Dirbhe and cherished grandson of Maire. Loving partner of Niamh and devoted daddy to Patrick.

Late of 58 Stewartstown Park.

Odhran will be reposing at his late residence from Sunday and Monday at 12 noon to 8pm. On Monday house is strictly private from 8pm. Odhran will be leaving his late residence on Tuesday at 9.30am to arrive at St Oliver Plunkett Church for 10.00am Requiem Mass. Burial to follow at Milltown Cemetery.

Odhran will be loved and missed always by his heartbroken granny, partner, son, aunts, uncles and entire family circle.

The family of the late Rose Bowman wish to express our sincere thanks to all those who sympathised with us and showed us so much kindness in our recent loss.

Thank you to all relatives, friends and neighbours who visited our home, travelled from afar, attended the Mass and Cremation.
A special thank you to Dr Dessy, the doctors, nurses, auxiliary staff and volunteers of the NI Hospice, the Ardcomm carers and the District Palliative care nurses, for all the love and care given to Rose during her last few months.

Thank you also to Father Raymond McCullagh for his celebration of Rose at her Funeral Mass. Thanks also to Cara McCann for the beautiful music at the Mass.

We are truly grateful to O’Neill’s Funeral Directors for the thoughtful and dignified way they carried out the Funeral and Cremation Services.

We trust that this acknowledgement will be accepted as a token of our sincere appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for all your attention.

Michael (Micko) Hanley R.I.P

Micko passed peacefully at Hospital on 23rd April 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Dearly beloved husband of Doreen and loving father to Sarah and Marc. Devoted granda to Ethan. Much loved brother of Joe, Patrick and Paul.

Joseph (Joe) Begley R.I.P.

Joe passed peacefully at home on 21st April 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Dearly beloved husband of Ann. Loving daddy to Malachy, Kevin and Dominic. Devoted granda to Niambh, Datu, Ruairí, Eamonn, Daíre, Shannon and Naomi.

Late of 62 Hazelwood Avenue.

Joe’s remains will be reposing in O’Neill’s Chapel of Rest on Tuesday from 6pm-8pm and Wednesday from 9am – 1pm for those wishing to pay their respects.

Joe will return to his family home on Thursday at 12.30pm, the family have requested that the house remain private on Thursday evening from 5pm onwards. Those wishing to pay their respects at home are welcomed to do so on Thursday afternoon and Friday at any time.

Joe’s remains will leave his late residence at 10am on Saturday the 25th of April 2026 to arrive at Our Lady Queen of Peace for 10.30am Requiem Mass. Burial to follow in Milltown Cemetery.

Joe will be loved and missed always by his heartbroken wife, sons, grandchildren and entire family circle.
