Originally from Motherwell, Scotland, Connor moved to Northern Ireland nine years ago to pursue a long-standing ambition to work professionally with pianos.

Before retraining, he worked as a journalist with several newspapers in Scotland — a background that still shows in his clear, thoughtful communication with clients.

After two years of focused study and hands-on practice, Connor secured a highly sought-after apprenticeship with Jeffers Pianos in Cork, from 2020 to 2023. During this time he developed the core skills required for high-standard piano tuning, regulation, and repair.

Connor has been part of The Piano Doctor team for three years and continues to build on that strong foundation with every instrument he works on.

A 124-year-old Ibach that’s still going strong. 🎹

Something of a peculiarity too — you don’t often come across an 'overstrung' design with an 'over-damper' action.

Keep pianos regularly serviced and tuned, and they can last far longer than most of us would at 124!! 🙂🎶
