This took me years to realise and tbh itâs something I really still struggle with.
Especially when lifeâs not going my way.
But trust me it wonât make it better.
As we go into 2026, Iâve made a resolution to eliminate alcohol completely for one year.
I might not succeed but Iâll try, I want to eliminate it completely, it doesnât happen over night.
But some tips Iâve found useful.
1. Drink in environments that are healthy (you know what I mean)
2. Limit to a number and stick to it, donât drink fast
3. Donât beat yourself up if you break, take the lesson and move forward
4. Distance yourself from âmatesâ who only ask you out to drink, theyâre not mates
5. Journal, write down how it made you feel and try to remember this when you recover and need another one.
Finally, just be honest with yourself, no one can answer this question for you.
