📌A gentle reminder for research participants:

We're calling on young people (12-17) living with congenital heart disease, and their parents or guardians, to take part in this important research.

We are proud to support Ruth Tobin from Queen's University Belfast and Dr. Brian McCrossan in this study. It explores how young people with CHD experience social media platforms. What they like, what they don’t like, and if they connect with CHD content or communities online.

All participants will receive a £20 amazon voucher, as a thank you for your help!

Please check out Dr McCrossan’s video and Ruth’s information for more details.👇

We would like to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt thanks to the McIlrath Family (Alana, William, George) and their incredible heart warrior, Annie, for bravely sharing their story as part of our 2025 Christmas Appeal. It is a true privilege to help shine a light on their journey not only to raise vital awareness of congenital heart disease, but also to bring comfort and hope to other families facing a similar path, reminding them that they are never alone.

At Children’s Heartbeat Trust, we are immensely proud to stand beside such inspiring families everyday thanks to you, our amazing supporters, who make our work possible. Your generosity enables us to provide essential support to children and families living with CHD, today and into the future.

We are deeply grateful for every donation made to this year’s Appeal and for all those who chose to fundraise over the festive season (and at any time of year). Your kindness makes a meaningful difference to local children.

If you are in a position to give, you still help support little hearts like Annie's, by donating via the link below:

Yesterday, we spent a magical morning on the ward, bringing a little Christmas cheer to those who are here at this time of year. 🎄

We were visited by the big man himself, Santa, who was checking his list and making sure everyone had been good this year, which of course they were. 🫶

Santa took time to chat with all the families and had a little gift for everyone, while the family support team handed out treats and hot chocolates and offered support to everyone on the ward.

We also had a visit fromHenry Wee_Wheels , which brought so much joy to the ward! I think a few people would be very happy if Henry could move in.

A big thank you to Santa Hugo from the Freemasons of County Antrim and to Henry’s momager, Sharon, for coming to the ward yesterday and spreading so much joy! 🥰

As many of you know, Professor Casey officially retired from the Belfast Trust earlier this year. We were so pleased to gift Professor Casey with a very special book bursting full of thoughtful messages and words of thanks from heart families and young people he has cared for throughout his wonderful career.🫶

Professor Casey loved the book and was deeply touched that so many of you had taken the time to share such kind words and passes on his sincere thanks to everyone who sent a message or photograph, it will be treasured!❤

Thanks everyone, CHT Team.
