HEROES don’t always wear capes.
And that’s the case with the outstanding local charity, North East Cancer Research and Education Trust (NECRET).

And while the capes may be absent, what’s firmly attached to the wall at the facility at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital this week is a new award for Excellence in Healthcare, courtesy of Kingsbridge Healthcare Group and Drogheda and District Chamber.

The new scheme honours those who are making a real impact in their chosen field and NECRET - Northeast Cancer Research & Education Trust is up amongst the best in the country.

The mission of NECRET is to improve the treatment and outcomes of people with cancer by supporting cutting edge treatment and care.

NECRET help fund state of the art equipment to help clinicians remain at the very forefront of the fight against cancer, assist clinical cancer research into new treatment methodologies, support staff training and do everything they can to help patients while in hospital.

“There is no mystery about NECRET. They have a vision and a drive that is incredible to see in action and what they have done – and continue to do – is incredible. This is an award to say thanks,” Chamber CEO, Hubert Murphy, stated.

Following referral from your own clinician, we can carry out:

• Blood tests
• Swabs
• ECGs
• Vaccines
• Medication administration
• Wound check or suture removal

What we need from your clinician:

✔ Referral letter from Clinician on headed paper with patient details on letter, dated.
✔ Clear details of the tests required or prescription with administration instructions or wound care advice
✔ Signed by the clinician, including GMC number (or equivalent)
Once completed, results will be sent directly to you to share with your doctor for review and ongoing care.

Kingsbridge Private Hospital Group and Drogheda and District Chamber are delighted to announce a new ‘Excellence in Healthcare’ awards scheme, designed to recognise those who go above and beyond to help people in their community.

The awards will be inclusive and aim to acknowledge those individuals, groups and organisations that make a difference, from nurses, doctors and receptionists; to cancer care centre workers and volunteers; pharmacy employees, nursing home employees and first responders who save lives daily.

A milestone moment for our team, celebrating Mary, the first ever patient through the door of our state-of-the-art Catheterisation Laboratory in Kingsbridge Private Hospital Belfast! 🙌

The Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory (Cath Lab) at Kingsbridge Hospital provides minimally invasive procedures to diagnose and treat heart rhythm disorders and coronary artery disease. These procedures are performed by consultant cardiologists using specialist imaging and catheter-based techniques.
