Post-liposuction and 360 FDL (Fleur-de-Lis) surgery, fluid buildup like seromas can sometimes occur.

Today, we drained 500ml of fluid from a seroma, a common post-op complication.

Draining seromas helps prevent infection, discomfort, and promotes faster healing. If you’re recovering from surgery, always monitor swelling and fluid accumulation at your incision site. If you notice excessive swelling or discomfort, get in touch for a consult!

Proper aftercare, like wearing compression garments and getting lymphatic massages, plays a key role in preventing seromas and ensuring smooth recovery. 💉💪

SEROMA ASPIRATION

Our client developed a large seroma at her abdomen following liposuction.
By aspirating the seroma I removed 250ml of fluid.

What is a seroma?

A seroma is a collection of fluid that builds up under the surface of your skin. Seromas may develop after a surgical procedure, most often at the site of the surgical incision or where the tissue was removed.
The most common types of surgery that result in seromas include:
* body contouring, such as liposuction or arm, breast, thigh, or buttocks lifts
* breast augmentation or mastectomy
* hernia repair
* abdominoplasty, or a tummy tuck

If seromas aren’t removed they can turn into solid and the only option is to have it surgically removed. So it is essential these are treated promptly to ensure maximum results from your surgical procedure.

Seroma aspiration is a medical intervention and should only be treated by a qualified healthcare professional.

Seroma Aspiration 💉

Here we have our specialist post surgical advance nurse practitioner carrying out a seroma aspiration. Seroma aspiration is a medical procedure used to drain fluid accumulation, known as a seroma, that can occur in the body after surgery, trauma, or certain medical conditions. A seroma is a collection of fluid that builds up in the tissues, typically in a cavity or space created by surgery or injury. Seromas can lead to swelling, discomfort, and delayed healing if not addressed promptly.

We are Scotland only specialist clinic offering this service where our clinicians have been specifically trained to deal with seromas.

Our patient is only 8 days post liposuction, J-plasma & BBL

After aspirating the seromas we will proceed to give the treated areas a full specialist post surgical lymphatic massage to aid fluid draining and aid healing.
