💛WELL DONE EVERYONE💛

Thank you:
- to the staff for supporting this fundraiser
- the volunteers who came along to help
- to everyone who stopped to donate
- to our wonderful preschool friends for supporting us
- to our very own Pudsey, Chris
- our AMAZING residents who chose to support this fundraiser by attempting the sponsored walk.

The highlight was hearing how proud our residents were of themselves for managing to walk further than they expected.

We’re looking forward to more fundraising this afternoon with our Children In Need tea and Quiz night.

Today, during lunch it was time to announce, our Employee of the Month

We’d like to congratulate Punarja on receiving the award this month.

She was awarded a loud round of applause from both residents and staff. Plus a lovely certificate and voucher, so that she can treat herself.

This afternoon we headed to Holbrook Village Hall where they host their friendship group. This happens on the second Wednesday of the month 2-4pm. We’d highly recommend it.
Today they had the Codnor Warblers performing who are not only fabulous singers, they’re also great story tellers too.
There was singing, laughter and a little
healthy competition when it came to the quiz.
A lovely afternoon was had by all who attended.

Today we had some lovely chats about our war time memories.
This was a great conversation starter and our residents spent a lot of time chatting with each other about their memories of that time.
We added our memories to our remembrance board.

We are hoping to walk up and down our driveway around ten am on Thursday morning. If anyone would like to come along and support us it would be very much appreciated.
Hot chocolate will be on sale - all funds to Children In Need.
We’ll have our preschool friends cheering us on.
It would be lovely to have the community together supporting this wonderful charity.
We’ll have our lovely Chris dressed as Pudsey, with us throughout the day. Doing a variety of challenges.

It was lovely to hear our residents joining in with Marilyn today.

They recited The Owl and the Pussycat poem together.

This is a firm favourite here at Holbrook Hall.

Marilyn always selects a variety of poems for the time of year and she also takes requests.

We’re so thankful that she gives up her time to spend an hour with us each week.

This week we had a lovely lady visit our home to run a yoga session for our residents.

A lot of our residents found this session fun and helpful. Where some found it so relaxing that they fell asleep.

We will be feeding back our thoughts on what our residents enjoyed and hopefully they’ll be able to adapt the programme so we can have them visit our home again.

On Remembrance Sunday we remember and honor servicemen and women who have died in conflicts and we acknowledge the sacrifice of families and emergency services.

This week we have been thinking about and remembering those who fought for our freedom. We have displayed our work as a show of respect.

Our residents thought about words that connected them to the Remembrance Day.
