💩 Poo - what is normal for you? 💩
💩 Our bowels …. It’s an age old conversation 💩!
☹️ When they don’t function as we would like they can make us feel really sluggish and uncomfortable, if we boil it down they are the ‘cleaners’ of our bodies, getting rid of rubbish, and ‘stuff’ we don’t need. When they don’t work effectively that rubbish and ‘stuff’ just sits inside us, affecting us in many ways.
💡 Here are a few ideas for ways we can help ourselves;
💧 A glass of warm water when you get up - it rehydrates the body after being asleep, and encourages the large intestine on its journey.
💦 Being hydrated is so important for so many reasons, but in the case of our bowels being hydrated makes the p**p softer and easier to pass, it keeps the gut lining moist which in turn promotes smoother movement.
🏃🏻 Being active early in the morning, a little exercise goes a long way, gets the body moving and grooving. In TCM it is believed that the bowel has most of its energy between 5-7am, it quite literally clears out the junk ready for the day ahead.
🥗 Adding a mixture of fibres through vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds into your diet helps promote good gut health - interesting fact, did you know that soaking nuts and seeds help the digestive process be a little easier, something to maybe look in to and consider if you live with an inflammatory condition such as IBS.
🌱 Physillum Husk, a readily available natural source of soluble dietary fibre used as a bulk forming laxative for supporting the digestive system, amongst other benefits.
👣 Reflexology, of course, can be for many a useful tool to promote a healthy digestive system - a small study in 2010, showed that 94% of a group of women reported an improvement in their constipation at the end of a 6 week course of reflexology sessions 🤩 see link below ⬇️
