There is so much magic to be found…

It is much more difficult to let go
Than to work
To put down the deadlines
And the busyness
That the world defines us by

And let ourselves play
And explore
And wonder
And worship
And be

What a wonderous planet
We've been blessed with

How many tiny cycles
And seasons
And relationships
Go steadily on
As we fret and hurry

What precious space on this earth
Is left empty
Because we are too busy
To notice
Our own absence

What plant and land
Calls our name on the wind
Inviting us into their lives
While we dismiss it as a simple breeze
A simple act of science

What would we find
If we relaxed our shoulders
And let the world show us
How to live

Such great alternatives to ‘good boy/ good girl’, ‘clever girl/boy’ or ‘gorgeous child’...

It took a long ass time for me to learn how to accept a compliment. It took even longer for me to believe the compliment was sincere and not an integral part of an elaborate system of lies.

Also: DO NOT FOCUS ON HOW PEOPLE LOOK. This includes children. My God, people, let's do better.
