What a fantastic Shrove Tuesday we’ve had here at Limes! 🥞✨
Our day was filled with fun, laughter. We kicked things off with quizzes and trivia all about Pancake Day, followed by some very enthusiastic pancake flipping practice — we definitely have some budding champions in the making!
We also enjoyed watching and learning about the history of pancake races. Did you know the very first recorded pancake race took place in 1445 in the Buckinghamshire village of Olney? What a wonderful tradition to still be celebrating nearly 600 years later!
This afternoon, the celebrations continued as we delivered freshly made pancakes around the home. Residents could choose from a delicious selection of toppings including fresh berries, sauces, syrups and cream — but the clear favourite was the classic lemon & sugar! 🍋🍬
It’s been such a joyful day, full of smiles and sweet treats. Thank you to everyone who helped make it so special! 💛

What a wonderfully busy and exciting week we’ve had here at The Limes!
We kicked things off by celebrating National Pizza Day in the best way possible — by making our very own delicious pizzas for tea! Everyone had great fun choosing their toppings, getting creative in the kitchen, and of course enjoying the tasty results. There’s nothing better than homemade pizza shared with friends.
With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, we’ve also been getting art and crafty. From colourful cards to thoughtful handmade creations, there has been plenty of glitter, glue, and creativity flowing. It’s been lovely to see everyone putting so much care into their makes.
A real highlight of the week was a fabulous afternoon of fun and games with Wendy & Bridgitte. There was lots of laughter, friendly competition, and wonderful energy throughout the room — thank you both for bringing such joy to The Limes!
We’ve also enjoyed some fantastic trips out and about, making the most of our local community. Getting out for a change of scenery, fresh air, and new experiences is always a treat, and this week certainly didn’t disappoint.
All in all, it’s been another week full of smiles, creativity, and great company here at The Limes. We can’t wait to see what next week brings!

✨ What a wonderfully busy and joy-filled week here at The Limes! ✨
We’ve loved being thoroughly pampered by Heidi our hairdresser, Kerry our manicurist and Robert our podiatrist – feeling refreshed from head to toe! 💇‍♀️💅👣
We've also been on some lovely trips out and enjoyed every minute.
There’s been plenty of fun too, from making (and very happily eating!) delicious rocky road treats 🍫 to trying out balloon tic-tac-toe with absolutely hilarious results 🎈😂.
We’ve been so lucky to enjoy some fabulous family visits, alongside friendly games of carpet boules, full houses for quoits and quizzes, a lovely coffee morning, darts competitions and so much more.
A big thank you to everyone who helps make life at The Limes so full of laughter, activity and smiles 💙

🎶 What an lovely afternoon at The Limes! 🎶
We had so much fun singing along as Dave & Rodney took us on a musical journey through the ages – there wasn’t a toe left untapped! 🕺💃
Our very own Don was in his element on the drums 🥁, and before we knew it, everyone was singing, playing instruments, and joining in the fun. The room was filled with laughter, music, and big smiles all round 😄
Thank you to Dave & Rodney for such an interactive and uplifting afternoon – memories made and spirits well and truly lifted.

🌟 What another wonderful week we’ve had at The Limes! 🌟
Yesterday we celebrated our lovely Rita’s birthday 🎉 She was surrounded by her family and staff and serenaded by the fantastic Sophie playing her fiddle 🎻 Rita told me today that she thoroughly enjoyed her birthday, which was just lovely to hear 💕
This week also saw us enjoying a tasty cheese & wine afternoon 🧀🍷 where everyone scored their favourites, Leo treated me to some tunes on the keyboard 🎹, and we got active with balloon games and cardio drumming 💪🥁. We played boules, enjoyed Brigitte’s knitting circle 🧶, had a lovely Friday coffee morning and quiz ☕🧠, and made a great start on our back wall project 🎨. We've enjoyed some wonderful visits from families and loved them joining us for activities. ❤️
Today is Dignity Action Day, and we spent a peaceful afternoon talking about what dignity means to us and how we incorporate it into everything we do, every single day 💜
A week full of connection, creativity and care – just the way we like it 😊

🇦🇺 Australia Day at The Limes 🇦🇺
Today we had a wonderful time celebrating Australia Day together! 🎉
We enjoyed quizzes, music and fun facts all about Australia, with plenty of laughs along the way.
A special mention to our Wilf, who warned us all to beware of the spiders! 🕷️ We also learned about the history of Waltzing Matilda and rounded the day off with a lively game of Australian Bird Bingo 🦜
Lots of fun, great memories, and even better company 💚

We had a wonderful time celebrating Burns Night at The Limes! 🎶📜
The afternoon was filled with songs, poetry, quizzes, and the sound of bagpipe music – plus some delicious clotted cream shortbread, of course 😋
Patricia, being Scottish herself, delighted everyone by reciting some of her favourite pieces, and a big thank you to Joy for her beautiful reading of Robert Burns’ “The Rose”.
It’s been a busy and happy time here too – getting creative in our arts and crafts group, enjoying a lovely coffee morning, travelling to Scotland from the comfort of our armchairs, and heading out on a few trips. Plenty of smiles all round! 💙

What a fantastic week it’s been so far at The Limes! 🌟
We’ve started the week feeling calm and energised with our wonderful Tai Chi session led by Peter, shared Holy Communion with Rev Bev, and got a little competitive (and very giggly!) during a lively game of quoits.
We also celebrated Mariachi Day with plenty of Mexican fun and music 🇲🇽, baked some absolutely delicious shortbread, and enjoyed a rousing game of prize bingo – huge congratulations to Jo for winning twice, and to Joy and Jean with a win each! 🎉
Add in an all-request sing-along and some armchair travels around the world with Bridgitte, and it’s safe to say we’ve been very busy… and the week’s not over yet!
We’ve packed so much in already and loved every minute 💙

What a truly lovely time we’ve had at The Limes! 💐
A huge thank you to Wendy & Bridgitte for creating such a wonderful Winnie the Pooh–themed afternoon. It was full of smiles, nostalgia and joy, and our residents absolutely loved every moment. 🐻🍯
A very special mention to Nathalie, who so beautifully shared her childhood memories and her love of Winnie the Pooh — it made the afternoon even more meaningful and heartfelt. 💛
Alongside this, we’ve also enjoyed a lovely trip out to the garden centre, getting creative while making bird feeders, celebrating birthdays, and so much more. 🎂🌼🐦
It’s been a week filled with laughter, togetherness and special moments — thank you to everyone who made it so memorable. 💕

Our beautiful Peggy turned an incredible 101 on 7th January 💖
Although she wasn’t feeling well enough to celebrate on the day, she made up for it yesterday by enjoying a wonderful party surrounded by her family and friends.
Celebrating at the grand age of 101 years and one week, Peggy truly showed us all that, just as her sash said, she is definitely 101 and fabulous! ✨🎉

We’ve been a little quiet on here recently while we recovered from Christmas and enjoyed the start of a brand new year – but that doesn’t mean we’ve been idle! 😊
Our Monday morning Tai Chi sessions with Peter continue to be very popular and well attended, while Wendy’s Drummercise classes are always a hit and provide a great cardiovascular workout.
We’ve also been getting creative for National Bird Day, producing some beautiful winter artwork with Bridgitte. Carpet boules remains as competitive as ever, and Bridgitte’s Saturday morning knitting circle offers the perfect mix of relaxation and a good old natter.
We’ve loved having Muffin visit and enjoyed cuddles and spoiling her with treats.
Leo enjoyed taking part in a virtual live Mass on the big iPad and even treated us to a few songs on the keyboard. We’ve also made the most of our minibus trips, stopping off for coffee or hot chocolate while taking in the sights.
On Wednesday, the wonderful Maurice entertained us once again – his shows are always thoroughly enjoyed. And today, for National Thank You Day, we spent a lovely afternoon reflecting on what we’re thankful for and who we’d like to say thank you to.
A busy and happy start to the year at The Limes 💙
