❤️Happy Valentines Day❤️
Our residents have talked about the history of Valentines and it’s meaning to them at this stage in their lives. For some it’s a time of reflection as they remember dear loved ones, so family and friends all play an important part in our wellbeing. But everyone agrees, sharing our love with those around us makes the world a better place! ❤️❤️❤️

With 17 years of dedicated service as a night carer, Nicola consistently goes above and beyond for residents and colleagues. Her compassion, passion and commitment set a wonderful example for new team members and make a real difference every night.

Today we welcomed back the wonderfully talented Phoebe Abridge. Our residents sang and clapped to tunes from bygone eras as Phoebe engaged them all with her beautiful voice.

As Chinese New Year approaches we had a day of celebration to mark the occasion. Tastebuds tingled with a ‘fake away’ lunch, we discovered our horoscope animals, the history and rituals of a Chinese new year and unlocked memories of residents who have travelled or lived in China. A fun game using chopsticks revealed hidden talents that many had forgotten too! Decorations included lanterns made by the residents and whilst enjoying a nice cup of tea and cake, we tested our new found knowledge with a fun quiz.

To mark the start of the Winter Olympics
here at Rush Court residents took part in their own downhill skiing race ⛷️It took concentration and stamina to reach the finish line and everyone felt the glory of success with lots of laughter on the way 🏅🏆
A nice cup of tea went down a treat as we relaxed then looked at the life of Charles Dickens whose birthday it is today 📚

Yesterday we had the absolute pleasure of visiting the beautiful Dorchester Abbey for another truly moving music concert. This time they were joined by talented boys from Magdalene College, and the whole performance was breathtaking. From soulful singing to stunning violin, cello, and piano pieces, every moment was filled with skill, emotion, and pure joy. They were all incredible and left the whole audience uplifted.

Smiles all around at our pre‑lunch social today as residents gathered for a cheerful catch‑up and a bit of trivia fun. We were especially delighted to welcome Julia with Nell, our wonderful pet therapy dog, who popped in for cuddles and showed off some of her favourite tricks. She never fails to brighten the room and lift our spirits.

Yesterday we gathered with our residents over a comforting cup of tea and a slice of cake, creating the perfect setting for an open, heartfelt discussion about what dignity truly means to them. Their reflections were thoughtful, personal, and deeply moving a reminder of why honouring dignity sits at the heart of everything we do.
