Easter weekend at Rush Court has been filled with colour, laughter and plenty of sweet treats. Residents enjoyed warm hot cross buns. In style we paraded our Easter Bonnets at the Parade, showing off some truly fabulous creations.

The fun continued with an Easter Egg Hunt around our beautiful garden, followed by a cosy cup of tea and Simnel cake at the tea party where everyone gathered to relax, chat and enjoy the flavours of the season.

Both staff and residents have loved celebrating together and sharing these joyful Easter moments.

🚴‍♂️ Our Maintenance Manager Steve is taking on another huge challenge in aid of Turn2us - Tackling Financial Insecurity Together for Founders Day this May!
He’ll be cycling virtually from Grove Court Care Home in Woodbridge all the way to The Lodge Care Home in Exeter via (virtually) all eight Elizabeth Finn Homes along the way.
That’s almost 430 miles in just two weeks!
And he won’t be doing it alone…
We’re inviting staff, residents, relatives and visitors to help us clock up the miles by walking, or by popping in to hop on our exercise bike! Every mile counts.

Spring has definitely arrived at Rush Court. Over the last few weeks we’ve been sowing sunflowers, broccoli, lettuce and peppers, and preparing the raised bed for a lovely selection of herbs ready for our sensory garden project.
One resident has planted her own tomatoes outside her room and they’re already coming along beautifully.
We’re all looking forward to tasting the fruits (and veggies!) of our labour soon 🌱

When one of our residents couldn’t travel to her granddaughter’s wedding, her daughter planned to bring the celebration to her.
Surrounded by friends and neighbours, she watched the ceremony via live stream and was able to share every special moment in real time.

Our catering team created a gorgeous spread, and the room was decorated to match the wedding’s colour theme right down to having confetti to throw, making it feel as though she was truly there.

A huge well done to our hotel services manager and her amazing team. So much thought, care, and love went into making this day unforgettable. Moments like these are what make our Rush Court family so special.

Our residents have been enjoying getting out and about and this week’s stop was the lovely Root One Garden Centre.
They had a wonderful time browsing the plants, picking up a few Easter gifts, and of course… finishing the trip with a well‑earned cuppa and a slice of cake.
Simple outings like these always bring so much joy, conversation, and connection.

Our residents found the talk incredibly informative, engaging, and empowering helping everyone feel more confident about staying safe and spotting the signs of potential scams.

For Nutrition & Hydration Week, at our monthly food forum we had a nutritious and delicious afternoon tea from vibrant fruit platters to classic cheese and biscuits, there was something for everyone.

We put our taste buds to the test with a smoothie sampling session and let’s just say the reactions from some of the residents faces were priceless 🤣

We wrapped up with a lovely group discussion about what a healthy, balanced diet looks like, sparking lots of great ideas and conversations.

A huge congratulations to André, Senior carer. André’s even temper, professionalism, kindness, and reliability makes him an invaluable member of our team. When André says he will be back in ten minutes, the residents know he truly will and that level of trust means a great deal.
