B’Active Wellness Hub

Berwick is in real need of something dedicated to mental health and wellbeing for people of all ages. While we are fortunate to already have some fantastic services in the area – such as Andysmanclub, Berwick Youth Project, Rise North East, to name a few – our aim is to work alongside and complement these existing providers, not compete with them.

B’Active Wellness Hub has already built a presence on Facebook and received fantastic responses to our posts. We are also in the process of setting up a Women’s Talk Group, which has already gained strong interest.

One of our biggest challenges at this stage is funding. We understand that many funders want to see something fully established “in black and white” before committing support. Our vision is to create a one-stop hub in Berwick for all things mental health and wellbeing – a welcoming space where people can access support, take part in activities, and connect with others. We already have a team of enthusiastic volunteers ready to get involved, and now we are looking at possible business partners and suitable buildings to bring this idea to life.

To help cover costs, we are exploring a monthly community draw. For £10 a month, participants would be entered for the chance to win prizes of £600 (1st), £200 (2nd), and £100 (3rd), provided we reach at least 200 members. The remaining funds would go directly towards running the hub and maintaining the building.

As part of our next steps, we are planning to host an open night where local people can come along, share their views, and discuss what our community really needs. This will help shape the hub into something that works for everyone in Berwick.

We are currently seeking:

A building that is affordable to maintain and can truly become “our own” community space.

More volunteers who are passionate about supporting mental health and wellbeing in Berwick.

We would love to hear your thoughts on this idea and whether you believe it could make a real difference to our town.

Thank you,
B’Active Wellness Hub

We've been very quiet, and we're sorry about that.
We have such big plans, and we'd like to share them with you in the near future.
But for now.... Would Berwick like to see a Ladies group?? A bit like Andys Man Club??
Would you like to be involved and be a volunteer to help us grow?? Please get in touch 😊

Tonight we had a meeting with Georgina Hill, Berwick, It went really well, we talked all things Berwick and what's needed within the town.
We're hoping to get B'Active going in the right direction and I'm sure along with the help of Georgina it will turn into something great.
Also thank you to everyone that filled out the survey to help give us a better understanding of what us a community need and would like to see.
If anyone would like to help with volunteering in the future or even just find out a little bit more of our plan, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Thanks

The Why, The Who, The What, The When, The Where and The YOU.

This idea was sparked and started back in 2022.

We thought it would be time to introduce ourselves once again and turn this idea into reality.

Why:

After so much heartbreak within our community over the recent months, and reading peoples posts and comments regarding Mental Health Support in Berwick, our aim is to open a Mental Health services Hub, to help support the services that are already doing a great job in our community.

Including:

Berwick Youth Project, Rise North East and Andys man's club, to name a few but not all.

Who:

B'Active Wellness Hub is a newly established not-for-profit organization looking to make a difference within the community of Berwick-Upon-Tweed and beyond.

What:

We aim to provide a safe space for everyone at any age, with a range of classes from fitness to mental health support, while also involving other support services that help our community.

By using methods of sport and exercise to help create a feel-good attitude and self-belief, the hub will encourage inclusion, innovation and embrace all differences and similarities.

We are looking to make a difference and not a profit.

When:

Our aim is to have events in 2025 to help with funding and support.

Where:

Once we have enough funding, we will be looking at opening a hub in Berwick-Upon-Tweed. We're hoping to use the Hub as a one-stop shop where all services can be accessed.

You:

A lot of posts and comments have been made regarding Mental Health Support within our community. There are already great support services within our town that make such a difference, and we want to work beside them to help support the differences they have already made. The You part is where we are asking for your HELP. As a non-profit organization we need a committee and volunteers to help get this going and growing, so if this interests you please don't hesitate to get in touch. Also, if you could kindly like, share, and invite friends to our page, and keep an eye on for updates in the coming months. Funding is the problem for anything like this and other businesses within our town.

If you would like to know more or would like to be involved, or help support us, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Many thanks

B'Active Wellness Hub.
