We regret to inform you of the death of David Brown (Bessbrook).

BROWN (Bessbrook) 18th February 2026, peacefully at Iveagh House and late of Millvale Road Bessbrook, David William Robert. Dearly beloved husband of the late Carrie, loving father of David, Valerie, Janice and Derrick, dear father-in-law of Evelyn,Trevor and Jennifer; devoted grandfather, great-grandfather and brother of Eileen, Edwina, Margaret, Leslie, Ronald, Anne and the late Glennis.

Family and Friends welcome at George Preston’s Funeral Home Bessbrook, on Thursday 19th February 2026 from 5pm to 9pm.

Following a private family committal, a Service of Thanksgiving for David’s life will take place in Bessbrook Presbyterian Church on Friday 20th February 2026 at 2pm.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT NOTICE from the family of the late June Lundy.

The family of the late June Lundy (Glenanne) wish to express their heartfelt thanks to the entire family circle, friends and neighbours who sympathised with them in their recent sad bereavement.

To all who attended the funeral, called at the wake, brought and prepared refreshments, sent cards, telephoned, or helped in any way, a big thank you to each and every one of you.

A special thank you to the Rev Kenneth Henderson for his pastoral care and for the lovely funeral service and tribute.

Thank you to the organist Mrs Dorothy Hanna for playing at the service. Thanks also to Simply Good Catering for the lovely tea served in the church hall.

To the Doctors and nursing of staff of A&E at Daisy Hill Hospital and the Acute Stroke Unit, Ramone House, Craigavon Area Hospital, we are deeply appreciative of the excellent care she received.

We would also like to express our thanks to everyone who so kindly donated money to the N.I. Chest Heart and Stroke Unit and Kingsmills Presbyterian Church.

Finally, our sincere thanks to George Preston Funeral Directors, especially Gavin and Declan, who carried out the arrangements in a dignified and professional manner.

KERNAGHAN (nee Clayton) (Bessbrook) 5th February 2026 peacefully at hospital and late of Derramore Road, Maureen. Dearly beloved wife of the late John, loving mother of John, Ivy and George, dear mother-in-law of Alison and Soraya. Treasured grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and sister of Betty, Carol, the late Stanley, Ivy, Winston, Johnny, David and Barbara.

MONTH'S MIND and ACKNOWLEDGEMENT NOTICE from the family of the late Gavin Corkey R.I.P.

The family of the late Gavin Corkey, wish to thank all those who supported us during our recent sad bereavement.

To our family, friends and neighbours who paid their respects at the wake, sent messages of sympathy, attended the funeral, or offered support in any way, we truly appreciate it.

Our sincere thanks to those who cared for Gavin during his short illness: Dr Wesley Wright and the staff of Markethill Health Centre, and the nurses and Doctors at the Cancer Centre in Belfast City Hospital. Thanks to the Bessbrook District nursing Team, the community palliative care team and the Marie Curie team who cared for Gavin with such dignity and compassion throughout his illness and whose support allowed us to care for Gavin at home in his final days. Special thanks to our cousin Dr Sandra Young whose support and love we will always cherish.

The funeral Mass was a fitting tribute to Gavin and we are forever grateful to everyone who contributed in any way: to Very Rev Canon John Kearney who celebrated the Requiem Mass, to Ronan, Niamh, Rachel and Rosie for the beautiful music, to those who read, presented gifts and the Church Sacristans.

To the staff and pupils of St Ronan’s College Lurgan and St Mark’s High School Warrenpoint who provided the guard of honour.

Thanks also to Patsy and Kathleen McLogan for providing the refreshments during the wake and to The Flagstaff Lodge for the beautiful meal after the Requiem Mass.

We are very grateful to all those who donated to Evora Hospice in memory of Gavin.

Our sincere thanks to George Preston Funeral Directors for their compassion, and professional handling of the funeral arrangements.

As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, we trust this acknowledgment will be accepted as a token of our sincere thanks and appreciation.

Gavin’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in St Mary’s Church, Chapel Street Newry at 7.30pm on Tuesday 3rd February 2026.

Acknowledgement notice from the family of the late Bert McIlroy.

The family of the late Bert McIlroy - Alison, Robert, Christopher, would like to sincerely thank all those who attended the wake and funeral of our much-loved father, and everyone who sent messages of sympathy and condolence cards during this very difficult time.

We wish to express our heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and staff of Craigavon Hospital for the kindness, care, support, and compassion shown to our father and to our family.

We also extend our sincere thanks to all who kindly made donations in lieu of flowers, which were gratefully received in support of Newry Hospice.

Our thanks also go to Rev. Scott McDonald for delivering such a wonderful and meaningful church service, which reflected our father’s life with great warmth and dignity.

Halliday (Newry) 11th January 2026, Ernest Ian aged 77 years, peacefully at Cairnhill Care Home Newry and formerly of Glanree House Newry. Dearly beloved son of the late Ernest and Annabella (Anna) Halliday.

Funeral Service on Wednesday 14th January 2026, in Sandys Street Presbyterian Church Newry at 12 noon; followed by burial in the Presbyterian Cemetery, Armagh Road, Newry.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT NOTICE from the family of the late Norma Cunningham (Hamiltonsbawn).

The Family of the late Norma Cunningham wish to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to all those who sympathised with and supported us during our recent bereavement.

Our heartfelt thanks go to everyone who attended the wake and funeral, called at our home, sent sympathy cards and made donations in lieu of flowers, to Macmillan Cancer Support.

We would especially like to thank Rev Norman Smyth for his visitations and prayerful support and conducting the funeral service.

A special thanks to the Paramedics and Emergency Department at Craigavon Area Hospital for the professional and compassionate way they carried out their duties.

We also like to thank the Ladies of 1st Markethill Presbyterian Church for supplying the tea after the funeral service, and the Browne family for all their help with teas etc at the house and wake.
