Hi Everyone!
Thank you for following us here at Revive! Our page now has over 100 followers 🥳

I thought I should introduce myself. I am April, mum of 2 busy boys and owner of Revive. I have been a physio since 2008 and specialised in Pelvic Health as I love the difference physio can make to clients symptoms. People often put up with pelvic health issues such as incontinence, pain or prolapse symptoms for far too long before seeking help. Often my clients say they thought it was just a natural thing they needed to live with after having a baby, having surgery or getting older.

Although these symptoms are super common, they are certainly not something you need to put up with. If you are wondering how Revive could help you please get in touch.

When I am not with the boys or at Revive I work in a busy NHS Pelvic Health clinic. I love working for the NHS and always have. You may also find me out running, scrolling through clothes on Vinted or wild swimming (but only in the summer and in a wetsuit as I am a coward in cold water).

Lots of love x

Menopausal symptoms can be hard to manage, especially when at work. In a recent survey by the British menopause society 45% of females reported their menopause symptoms had a negative impact on their work. 1 in 10 females leave their job due to menopause symptoms.

Today in parliament ministers have decided against a trial of 'Menopause leave' in the UK which is a shame. However, what is positive is the volume of discussion and time now being dedicated to talking about the Menopause.

At Revive, we can help people who are having genitourinary symptoms related to menopause, as well as helping to improve bone health, muscle aches and joint pains.

Please do get in touch if you feel we can help.

The women and equalities committee accuses the government of "glacial progress" on menopause.

Calling all Men!

Did you know at Revive we see you as well! There are a number of reasons why males may experience bladder or bowel incontinence. One of the most common in my clinic is following a Prostatectomy (surgical removal of the prostate).

Urinary leakage after prostate surgery is a very common issue and can be a very frustrating and embarrassing thing to manage. Lots of the men I see feel like they are the only one going through it- this is certainly not the case and there is lots that can be done to help.

The Nice guidelines recommend supervised pelvic floor exercises for at least three months following a prostatectomy. It is also a good idea to get familiar with the muscle prior to surgery as well if you can.

If you have been doing pelvic floor exercises for a while and not seeing an improvement or if you are unsure where to start please book an appointment.

As a physio it is my role to improve function, pain and quality of life. Below is a list of some of the pelvic health conditions I treat.
