Are you in peri menopause, menopause or post menopause?

Are you neurodivergent and specifically ADHD, autistic or both (AuDHD) or think you might be?

Here is my latest blog about some of the challenges people who relate go through.

https://freshstart.me.uk/neurodivergent-therapy-and-coaching/neurodivergent-menopause-support-guide/

Menopause ‘can’ be on a whole new level when we are neurodivergent.

I am 60 and post menopause – if there really is such a thing. What a roller coaster ride that was! I’m on a mission to support people who need help and want to share experiences. I have a plan to do this, to build a Community.

I am also a Psychotherapist and offer coaching and guided, deep relaxing methods to help you feel more yourself again. I’m interested in supporting partners too.

Menopause affects those who are in it and those close to them.

Online therapy or face-to-face in Frome.

If you’re feeling the financial squeeze this year, remember: meaningful doesn’t mean expensive.

A handwritten card, shared meal, or thoughtful gesture often means more than a pile of gifts.

Spend what feels right, not what feels pressured. Connection and calm are priceless.

Are you, or do you think you might be, Autistic, ADHD or both?

Do you feel exhausted — like you’ve lost skills you used to rely on?

Is your memory, focus or ability to switch tasks not what it used to be?

How is your sleep, your energy, your self-care?

Are you finding masking harder than usual?

Do you feel more sensitive, emotionally or physically, to everything around you?

If any of this sounds familiar, you’re not alone.

Burnout can affect anyone, but for Autistic and ADHD adults it often runs deeper, lasts longer, and impacts every part of daily life.

I’ve written a new blog exploring neurodivergent burnout, what it can feel like, how to understand the signs, and gentle evidence-based ways to prepare for recovery and support yourself through it.

You can read it here:

https://freshstart.me.uk/neurodivergent-therapy-and-coaching/neurodivergent-burnout-support-guide/

With lived experience and over ten years supporting adults with emotional wellbeing, I know how heavy burnout can feel and how possible recovery is with the right support.

It’s perfectly fine to say no, whether that's to extra plans, overspending, or anything that steals your peace.

You’re allowed to make Christmas smaller, quieter, and more your own.

Boundaries aren’t selfish; they’re self-care.

Saying “no” this week might just be the kindest “yes” to yourself.

Christmas can creep up quickly, especially when life already feels full.

If you’re someone who juggles a busy mind, shifting energy levels or ADHD-style overwhelm, planning for Christmas can feel like balancing tinsel, appointments and emotions all at once.

But here’s the good news: you don’t need a huge master plan.

Tiny steps really do make a big difference.

Write one small list.
Choose one thing to do this week.
Cross it off and genuinely give yourself credit for it.
Each small action creates a little more breathing space for the weeks ahead.

Planning isn’t about perfection. It’s about giving future-you a calmer, more manageable December.

Here is my latest blog about living with the emotional impact of ADHD.

For many ADHD adults, emotions don’t arrive gently; they arrive loudly. One moment everything feels in flow, then suddenly a comment stings, a task feels impossible, or you find yourself exhausted, tearful or overwhelmed without fully knowing why.

In this new blog, I talk about the emotional side of ADHD:
• the intensity
• the shame and exhaustion that often follows
• the loneliness of being misunderstood
• the grief many adults feel after years of masking
• and the compassion and healing that begins when you finally understand your emotional world rather than fight it

I also share gentle practices that have helped me. Ways to slow down, notice what you’re feeling, and show yourself some care when the waves get big.

If you’d like to read it, you can find it here:

https://freshstart.me.uk/neurodivergent-therapy-and-coaching/the-emotional-side-of-adhd-living-with-feelings/

I am also offering a special discount for new adult clients until 30th November. The details are included at the end of the blog.

The build-up to Christmas can stir up all sorts of feelings, from excitement, pressure, stress, and even guilt that you’re not doing enough.

But the truth is, none of us gets it perfect. Some days will feel peaceful, others chaotic, and that’s completely okay.

Acceptance is the first step to calm.

Go easy on yourself this year because your best really is good enough.

As the nights draw in many people start to experience symptoms of Seasonal Adjustment Disorder or SAD.

This is when I start taking vitamin D3 + vitamin K2.

We don't make vit D naturally and need 15 minutes of sun everyday which is hard to get in dear old Blighty.

Time to bump up the vegetables and bit C too 😁
