**Why I Chose Dalyan for My First Yoga Holiday**
*(Long post alert—but worth the read!)*
Nestled between mountains and the turquoise Dalyan River, this little Turkish town whispered to me during the first lockdown. Dalyan is a place where the landscape itself seems to exhale—where reeds sway gently, ancient tombs watch silently from the cliffs, and the rhythm of life slows to a gentle pulse.
I chose Dalyan for its peacefulness, calmness, and tranquillity. For the sun that rises over the water and warms your soul. For the river life that glides past—seen and unseen. Turtles, cormorants, kingfishers inviting you to open to nature and surrender. And for the Turkish people—open-hearted, generous, always ready with a smile or a story.
Here, nature is not a backdrop—it’s a companion.
The pomegranate orchards.
The hush of reeds.
The shimmer of Iztuzu Beach at sunset.
Every element invites presence. Every moment feels like a gentle nudge back to yourself.
Hosting a yoga holiday here felt like planting a seed in fertile soil. Our practices—rooting through the chakras, flowing with the elements—were deeply supported by the land. Earth beneath our feet, water all around, fire in the sun, air in every breath. And above all, space.
🌿 Space to be
🌿 Space to rest
🌿 Space to connect
🌿 Space to breathe
🌿 Space to explore
In Dalyan, we found a sanctuary. A place where laughter drifted across the river, silence felt sacred, and each person could unfold in their own time.
I’ll carry this first yoga holiday in my heart always—not just for the beauty of the place, but for the way it held us. Gently. Spaciously. Like the pause between breaths.
