🐾 Animal Therapy And Its Benefits 🐾

Animal therapy can have such a positive impact on older adults, particularly those living with dementia. As memory fades and familiar routines become harder to maintain, the simple presence of an animal can offer comfort, companionship, and a meaningful sense of connection.

For individuals with dementia, animals can help reduce anxiety, agitation, and feelings of loneliness. Stroking a dog or cat has been shown to lower stress levels and promote relaxation 🥰.

At Witham Community Care, we have seen first-hand how much our service users benefit from animal therapy. Many of the people we support particularly enjoy activities involving animals. This can range from visiting local animal rescue centres, where they can spend time around a variety of animals, to our Support Workers simply introducing them to their own much-loved furry friends during visits. These moments often spark memories, stories from the past, and genuine happiness!

We are proud to be a team of animal lovers, and we understand how important pets can be in someone’s life. For those we care for who already have pets, we are also able to support with pet care. Whether that’s helping with feeding routines, cleaning, or ensuring service users beloved companions gets the attention they deserve.

Animal therapy is not just about spending time with pets, it’s about connection, purpose, and joy! ❤️🥰🐶🐱🐴🐾

Witham Community Care are looking for two Support Workers to join their small and friendly team! 🥰

- Support Worker - 16-22 hours per week
- Support Worker - 26-36 hours per week

**Please note, this role is only suitable for those living in East Sussex, and this vacancy is not available for overseas sponsorship**

We are looking for kind, caring and confident individuals with a full driving license to help us support people to remain living in their own homes safely. Our Support Workers must share our vision to provide outstanding care. Previous experience in this role isn’t a requirement, we are committed to training enthusiastic and dedicated individuals who wish to begin a career in the health and social care sector.

🌟 Introducing Minty, our Deputy Manager! 🌟

As many of you already know, Minty joined our team at Witham Community Care towards the end of last year. She has a wealth of experience working in both a home care and care home setting. Her role as Deputy Manager involves supporting our service users with their care needs, working alongside our Support Workers to ensure high quality, person centred care, and supporting us as management in the office with everything that goes on behind the scenes! Minty is incredibly warm, approachable, and shares our ethos to provide outstanding care. Like our Support Workers, she pays attention to the small details which make all the difference and ensure our lovely service users receive the best possible care every time. We knew that Minty would be the perfect addition to our expanding team and we’re thrilled to have her as part of our management team! 🥰🤍
