During this years roadshow, one of our service users wrote a poem for Together, here it is:
DOSH AT TOGETHER
In the suburbs lies a care home
People come and people go,
We need finance to support them,
Keep them warm in winter’s snow.
At the Council they’re debating
Whether they can meet the cost,
Someone’s waiting for a message,
They’ll be cared for in the frost.
There’s some body called Together
Who have money they will spend,
But the finance needs amassing
For the patients who depend.
Adding up on a computer
Taking care the sums are right,
In IT at Central Office
People work into the night.
As Liz Felton buys a new dress
Others only have some rags,
She must make a good impression,
Do the costumes carry tags?
At a meeting called in London
We discuss what we should do,
Many ways of making money,
Not go broke as did the Pru.
So my friends it’s time to finish,
Leave with pockets full of dough,
Happy we have lots of money,
And Together loves us so,
Cliff.
