Counselling for Teenagers and Adults. 🧠 Specialising in Neurodivergents and Trauma. 🧠creator of NeuroNest by CSC accredited Member of the BACP contact Charlotte 07486 411781. You may worry that your problem isn't bad enough, that you're wasting my time or that I'll be shocked by and judgmental about what you may disclose. Most people, once they have asked for help or disclosed something they felt they never could, generally wish they had done it much sooner. The most important part of the therapy is often the relationship between therapist and client and it is important that you feel comfortable and trust your instincts when choosing someone to talk to. I offer the core conditions in counseling, meaning I will provide a safe, confidential place to explore your thoughts and feelings in a non-judgmental and excepting environment. My style of counselling is integrative, meaning I draw on different counselling theories tailoring the sessions to the clients needs. What to expect within Children's Counselling. My Certificate in Counseling Children through the Charity Place2Be means I am qualified to use different techniques such as, Play Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy and Art Therapy. All my sessions are Child-lead meaning I see us as equals and value the thoughts, feelings and experiences your child may bring to the therapeutic process. I offer a wide range of art and play materials including paints, clay, puppets, play figures, masks and sand. Children may use their time in any way they like, as long as the space remains safe. I will follow their lead and communicate with them via the material they have chosen, whatever it may be, including talking, playing or silence. It is often easier for children to express their internal thoughts and dramas through drawing and playing rather than sitting and talking and these sessions give them the opportunity to do just that. Once feelings have been expressed verbally or non-verbally they can be talked about more openly, acknowledged, contained and hopefully moved on from. Each child is given their own box to store artwork in or use in any way they would like. They take the box home with them on their last session. Please be aware that I only have waiting rooms in my Sidcup and Greenwich practices. I hold a full DBS and follow the Child Protection regulations. We will have an initial assessment session of 50 minutes; 45 mins for children, in which we can explore whether what I offer is appropriate for you or your child and we can decide whether we feel we can work together or not. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (registration number 152552)
